Mercato: transfer situation

"Concerning Semak, I remain in regular liaison with him and the President of CSKA Moscow. Semak is currently involved in Italy with the Muscovite club and should join Paris soon, undoubtedly the next week. But the situation has not changed financially: we are in need of departures in order to recruit, because our budget is not extendible (extensive?). Moreover, our elimination from the League Cup removed a (financial) safety margin for us. However, I can say that Vahid Halilhodzic will be able to add at least a name to the list of the recruits in the timeframe between today and the end of the mercato.

Vedad Ibisevic is lent in Dijon until the end of the season. Vahid wished that he could profit from more consequential play, he was denied that opportunity with PSG. But he always belongs to the club, and we will count on him in the future. His departure frees up a roster spot, which will from here on out be occupied by Paulo César, returning from Brazil."

I think that's correct (the English); someone pleace correct if I'm wrong, please. :)

I think that Ogbeche is gone, to free up cash for Semak. We'll see.

Well water under the bridge my friend. We need banter, otherwise these matches would be really dull. Next season, I may actually go to Toulouse, seeing as I lived not too far from there (Bayonne in the Basque country to be exact.)

I'm going on holiday now, God damn do I need it!

So Allez PSG! And win some ********ing games whilst I'm away.

btw: A few people have told me that the stadium ban won't happen. The sponspors and coporate buisnesses we have are much more powerful than the LFP, let me tell you.
Enjoy the time off, ganu, and good luck to you guys. ;)

PSG will be appealing our one match home ban, essentially turning it into a two match ban after we lose the appeal.

TALKS ON SEMAK'S TRANSFER TO PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN AT A STANDSTILL (http://en.rian.ru/rian/index.cfm?prd_id=160&msg_id=5323907&startrow=1&date=2005-01-19&do_alert=0)

PARIS, January 19 (RIA Novosti, Andrei Nizamutdinov) - The talks on possible transfer of captain of the CSKA football club of Moscow Sergei Semak to French Paris Saint-Germain are dragging out.

Mr. Semak arrived in Paris where, as the French hoped, he will sign the prepared contract. It turned out, however, that the document is now far from being signed, sources close to the PSG top officials said on Tuesday,

According to the sources, one of the main problems is the sum to be paid for the transfer.

On Monday, the French mass media spoke of Mr. Semak's transfer to PSG as, in effect, a decided matter. It was claimed that the sum of the transfer must be just over 2.7 million euros, with the term of the contract being 30 months.

The Paris club's coach Vahid Halilhodzic voiced his desire to get Mr. Semak shortly after the Champions League group tournament, held at the beginning of December, in which CSKA thrashed PSG 3-1 in Paris and the Army team's captain Semak scored three goals.

While PSG expressed its desire to see the midfielder in its ranks in no uncertain terms, the top officials at the Moscow club refuted the information on the possible transfer of Mr. Semak to the French club several times.

To be frank, I personally never like the idea of bringing in a player who humiliated you, let alone did so in the same season.

That being said, if he can bring some creativity and legitimacy to the midfield (I give him a 7.5-8, btw), and if PSG can gain some confidence, and if we can stay healthy (looks like M'Bami got hiself injured at JUST the wrong time to be transferred out, which is what he wants; now he'll have to rehab and put in a great performance in the tail ned of the season to get folks interested again), we should be able to compete for 3rd or 4th.

But that's alot of "ifs."

Mel Brennan,
I love the fact that your realistic. I too think that PSG have a shot at 3rd or 4th, at best.

Anyone doing PbP on the upcoming match?

PSG gets another draw. 0-0 with St. Etienne. Draws will not put PSG in position for Europe next season.

Whose next on the fixture list?

PSG vs. Istres this Wednesday @ Parc des Princes. Any thoughts, predictions, or line-ups?

My prediction is a 1-0 PSG win.

I hope PSG will take advantage of this fixture and win by a comfortable margin (don't mind if they concede goals) ; winning is not enough...Even if (like many of my compatriots) I don't like to burry the weaker side.

There's nothing like scoring a lot of goals for the morale.

PSG reveal list of targets

Hey at least Vahid Halilhodzic is a realist and knows that PSG must improve considerably to compete with Lyon or for a spot in Europe. Martins would have been a great move, but he probably is WAAAAAAY out of PSG price range.

We need them ALL; it's the 82nd minute, and we are tied 2-2 with bottom of the table Istres, at home. We suck.

GODDAMNIT!! GODDAMNIT!!! Another sh**ty performance against another scrub team. A scrub team that is definitely going to be relegated and PSG can't hold on to a two goal lead. What a effing waste of two hours listening to this match while at the job. I have to see the highlights of how badly the defense played. Listening to it was bad enough but viewing it? ARRRRGH!! Any L'OM fan that wants to diss PSG, go right ahead. I'm not going to defend against the criticisms. Why bother? BECAUSE THIS SQUAD SUCKS BIG TIME!!
