...Vahid must go, NOW!

I have to say I finally agree with this. Something drastic must be done to shake up these players.

Mel, the second goal was laughable. PFF and Yepes didn't have a clue what they are doing. I'll accept that Itandje had a blinder in goal, but the defending was shambolic.

Len's record at the Parc and away from home is dreadful. We gifted them the points. No fight at all.

I say give the espoirs a chance. At least they want to work, neigh die for the club.

JR please come back - we need you!

Hmmm I havent seen this game yet. I was asleep when it was on lol. As a big French soccer supporter I know that its very important that PSG does well.
I'd much rather see PSG near the top of the table than a team like Lille.
Cana, Pancrate and Coridon are mediocre players and they shouldnt be back next season. How about Matthew Bodmer from Lille and Jeremy Mathieu from Sochaux. PSG should try to get one of those guys before Lyon does.

I'll add that to "Reasons to keep this side in the stocks in the centre of the Champs d'Elyesses and allow fans to hurl rotten eggs at the them."

Disgraceful. One defeat too many. I can't take this any more, something radical has to be done. Vahid must go, NOW!
I'm surprised he has lasted this long. Certainly he is the #1 culprit in PSG's season. He should have gone some time ago.

Probably the only plus of the match........

Maybe they forgot they were supposed to be wearing white.

Right here is my view on the current squad.

Letizi - is a good keeper and has bailed us out in games, but is a Lion ('scuse the pun) behind some cowards. He will leave in the summer and the club must bring in Itandje or Landreau.

Alonzo - Our no1 last year, believe it or not. I'd have him on the bench with no worries.

Benhamou - whooooooooooooooooooo???????????

PFF - Get him out now. He isn't a shine on Dehu. He doesn't deserve the captains armband -=give it to Pauleta and ******** off our team.

Yepes - Last year this guy was amazing at a CB. But I think he a PFF can't seem to find a good partnership togther. I say use the kid Bamba along with Mario.

Armand - Another good player, but far too inconsitent. Time will come for him, and I still want on on our team.

Mendy - ditto. But sometimes he just doesn;'t seem bothered and has truly awful games.

Pichot - Good buy. Useful squad player.

Badiane - Espoir and always espoir. Not good enough for the 1st team imo.

Ateba - See above. Not been impressed with this guy.

Cana - This is guy is a shadow of the player he was last. The confidence has all but gone and he just looks lost in the centre. Get him out.

Cisse - Heart not in the club any more. Too many loan deals show he doesn't want to be at Paris any more. Use a player who wants to wear the red and blue.

Semak - Time will tell.

Boskovic - 1 good game in 50. Says it all. Get him out NOW.

JR - Legend. Injury is cursing this guy. We need to build our team around him.

M'bami - His heart is not in it anymore. Currently injured and says he wants to leave. Good. I say we get as much cash as we can for, especially if he wants to leave.

Coridon - Ugh. Mister give away the ball. Seriuosly, for an attacking midifielder, he just isn't doing it. If Lyon have Juninho; Monaco, Kallon then this really sums up how s***y our team is.

Pancrate - I quite like him. Has alot to offer PSG imo.

Ljubo - get him back in the 1st team. Last year he was inspirational in those edgy games. He has hardly figured at all and as a result we are struggling. His delivery and work-rate is valuable.

Pauleta - A god amongst fallen angels. If he left, then would be staring at Ligue 2.

Reinaldo - Poor striker for this level - not good enough - get rid.

Ogbeche - Has failed to live up to the early promise Has one more chance to prove imo.

Ibisevic - Still too young and needs more experience of French football. He looked out of his depth for times this year.

Teixeira, Cesar, Benachour, etc - end these players contracts now with effect and use the extra cash saved on their stupid wages to buy some better players.

For all our English speaking fans. Our site is finally in English - about time. Sadly not as in-depth as the French content. Just basic info at the moment.

I agree with almost all of this, given the few games I've actually seen this year.

For the capital club, building the brand everywhere they can makes even more sense than, say, ManU doing it, b/c of the handicap in terms of competing for players that is the tax situation for French clubs. Thus, the English portion of the website ought be improved and extended. For anyone concerned with cultural issues, well, I think that folks who speak Catalan are just as proud of their language and culture, yet take a look at the Barca (http://www.fcbarcelona.com/eng/home-page/home/home.shtml) website for the model I think PSG ought employ (which is produced in Catala, Spanish, English, Japanese and Chinese)...

That's symptomatic of France : we don't even think that a fair number of people abroad are actually interested in our business, that's why our championship - which is not the best in the world, I agree - is widely underestimated and underrated thus undersold...

Is it sheer arrogance or the ugly little duck complex ( of course, everyone knows we're the swan ;) ) ?

Ban racist fans says France captain Vieira (http://www.sport24.com/filinfo/filinfo_light.asp?SUPPORT=3&ID=108725&SP=1)

By Pierre Serisier

CLAIREFONTAINE, France, Feb 8 (Reuters) - France captain Patrick Vieira said he was shocked by racial abuse directed at black players during Paris St Germain's match against RC Lens on Sunday.

Fans in the Boulogne kop at the Parc de Princes unfurled a banner that read "Come on whites"! and racially abused black players on either side.

"I have not played at the Parc des Princes for a long time," Vieira said on Tuesday at France's training headquarters.

"And I'll think twice about it before I'm going to go there again.

"In England such abuses are not tolerated any more. There are video cameras which help track racist supporters. And once they are spotted they are banned.

"Similar sanctions could be taken in France. I was really shocked by what I saw at the Parc des Princes. It's up to the club to sort out this problem.

"The French soccer federation must give them a hand and FIFA must give the federation a hand too."

Boulogne kop fans are known for their far right ideology, which often prevents coloured fans standing in their part of the stadium.

PSG wore an all-white strip on Sunday, while the visitors were dressed in black as part of an anti-racism campaign that is being spearheaded by Vieira's Arsenal and France team mate Thierry Henry.

"This is urgent to do something as things are getting worse," said Vieira...

:(

If in fact things were happening the way it's described, it's a problem that must be rectified, and this can be very easily squashed.

If PSG want to hire me to do it, I could get it done no problem, in less than two seasons. Seriously.

It's about ZERO TOLERANCE as a philosophy from jump street; all procedure flows from your policy, and if that's your policy, your procedure (as well as your brand-building) will follow...

I've always said, there are a number of people within the Boulogne that seem intent on keeping the so called "tradition" of far right within the club.

I say the club can only do so much, but it is up to those supporter groups within the stand to try and kick it out. I can't say this way purely down to frustration at the performance.

But, yes something needs to be done. I certainly don't want it back in the club. But I can safely say, its not the entire kop of the Boulogne who feels
the way these idiots do. If the club and groups can employ a system of policing and anti-tolerance of this kind of behaviour, then hopefully we can kick it out.

In England, the clubs, fans and stewards in the ground just simply eject you from the ground. You then get a 6 month ban. If PSG did this, then it would give this thugs the message that the PdP is no place to spout their political views (be they far right or left.)

But as we know, this takes years rather than months. France and PSG has to understand that the problem is a social one, born out of ignorance and a apathetic society torwards racism.

I say look at England, it had a nasty hooligan and racism problem. But thanks to heavy secuirty and simply teaching fans that this behavior isn't welcome then the message got through. That, and the fact that black players became far more excepted in football. Once they were a minority in a team (almost a token gesture, maybe 1 in every team was something odd.) Now nearly every team has a black player in the starting lineup.

But then again, France isn't England and vice-versa. Its merely up to the society we live in, and the importance of those societes to accept others outside a football field.

In the UK, we are not 100% there, but at least we are far better than most countries it would seem.

VAHID IS GONE!!! HOOOOORRRAAAYYY!! Unfortunately, it took this long to give him the boot in the ass. Judging by the lack of wins in the new year, the awful defensive efforts in the current season, and the bad relations with some of the players, Vahid HAD to go.

Hit the road, jack. Don't you come back no more!

They went cheap:

new manager: Laurent Fournier

new "sporting director": Alain Roche

These guys were already in-house, so they'll probably give them the remainder of the season to make a significant impact, and if they don't, they'll execute a longer search for another candidate in the off-season.

Let's just hope it doesn't get worse before it gets better.

Harsh. Personally I want to thank Vahid for all he tried to do at PSG. But after the saga with Ljubo and the lack of support from the board, I do feel sorry for him.

After the mess of 2002/03, Vahid changed the fortunes of the club, got us CL football and won us a trophy for god knows how long. He changed the squad around, tactically altered the team (Dehu and Heinze got switched and excelled in their new roles.) He over shot the mark and exceeded our expectations. And for that, I am very thankful for all he did at the club.

But after the early mess I just felt that the players lost belief in his system and couldn't seem to recover, they were always trying to chase up the league. That said, I can't fault Vahid and his attempts at trying to manage PSG under this regime of Graille (which is getting ugly.)

So Merci, Vahid - I'm sure he can get a job at any other Ligue 1 side. And I will bear no grudges if he visits the Parc as a spectator or as the opposing manager.

:)

Lets hope we can get a new guy in, with some fresh ideas on how the team should play. I say Graille wins us over by snapping fans favourite Le Guen from Lyon (he has Paris in his heart!)

That said, my friends seem to think that Santini could be the favourite.....

Thoughts?

Fournier and Roche will stay on until the end of the season. If they are a huge success then may get the job (unlikely imo.)

I don't think they can save this sinking ship.

This is who we need, but we ALSO need his player development and scouting system; if that's not Le Guen, than bringing him in is only half the picture.

Hell, we need player development and scouting changes regardless of whether Paul returns to the PSG fold or not.
