Eddie Pope. He REALLY needs to be on that list. Arguably the best player in US history! He has it all. Skill, speed, intelligence, experience, aggressiveness. A coach's dream player.

Opps!!! *Pulling foot out of mouth* My apologies. Answered too quickly with out thinking about the "abroad" caveat.

BEASLEY, I just wish I could watch some PSV games.
I must agree on Beasley. He is a priceless and irreplaceable player. Other teams cannot keep up with his pace. With out him the USMNT would be hurting. He does not get recognized a lot, but he has made a huge impact on the US game. The team would be entirely different without him.

That's OK, I kind of like the fact that Eddie Pope is "Our little secret"...:)
I voted for Beasley, which would be no surprize to anyone watching me post with his jerseys on the wall behind me...:)
I was thinking about other players, and reasons to vote for them, and it occurred to me that there are two seperate lines of reasoning for people's selections...
Performance currently (or for the near term future)...
My choices:
1) Well, Beasley...:D
2) Cherundolo... I'm very impressed.
3) Bocanegra... Already taken for granted...
4*) Donovan... I really think he will be #1 (not my fav, but the best)
And 'All-time'....
This one's harder, it depends upon your criteria, but if it's only 'favorite', then it's:
1) Eric Wynalda... Just my favorite player, period.
2) Tab Ramos... Well, he's Tab.
3) John Harkes... What else is there to say, but "Captain for Life"?
4) Alexi Lalas... He truly inspired me at WC '94...

Favorite? It was Beasley, but for a variety of reasons, now I'm going to go with my University of Illinois-Chicago homeboy Jay Demerit.

I voted Beasley but I'm surprised Donovan hasn't received more votes. He is probably the best all around player on the USMNT. He also is the mastermind of creativity and has the purest ability on the team to finish when it matters. No, I'm not trying to vote twice. ;)

I don't like anything about US soccer but Beasley is a sick ass player. Hom or Donavan are the best.

I personally favor a healthy JOB, but that hasn't been the case for a while, I have high hopes for LD, but as of right now I definately enjoy watching DMB the most and I think he's definately impressed in Holland.

it's got to be Brad Fridel. I am surprised he only got 4 votes. he is world class, I still remember him in '94 WC even though that was more than 10 years ago.

It's Beasley. He's been owning up since he went to PSV. They did well with their foreigners, Gomes in goal, Alex in defense, Beasley up front.
