Throw in Martin Love who scored an unbeaten century in his last test innings, Matthew Elliott, Andrew Symonds, Brad Williams, (injured) Nathan Hauritz and Nathan Bracken. Also watch out for Shaun Tait in the next few years... a young fast bowler from South Australia with lots of potential.

Yep, Symonds is in the one-day team and should be for a while unless his form drops away. Speaking of the one-day team, Michael Bevan is another player who can't get a look in anymore. Here's a guy who averages over 50 with the bat and was widely regarded as the best one-day batsman in the world a few years ago, and now he's playing for Tasmania in Australia's domestic competition.

Australia are an excellent team, no question about that. If England can get back to form then the Ashes should be a great series this summer.

England are better.
We saw evidence of that in their last match against South Africa, didn't we? :D

And what did we see in the 4th test?

At the moment it is impossible to say that anyone is better than Australia, but we will be lucky enough to see them play this summer. I can't wait.

England is playing some really good test cricket but their one day cricket is rubbish. The Australians are playing some fantastic test cricket and their one day cricket is far better than England's but the Aussies are beatable, as the Black Caps proved, but I doubt either Pakistan or the West Indies currently have enough to win the VB series. The Ashes should be really good games as both teams are playing well. I give the edge to the Aussies though.

^Yeah thats why England beat Australia in a one dayer last summer!!!!!!P!ss off bytheway. You're nothing but a sh!tstirrer and add no value to any thread.

Go back to school to learn to spell and construct a sentence correctly. Have some-one change your nappies while you are there.

Andy,

please don't get so easily stirred by 'bytheway'.

Bytheway,

honestly, if you have nothing positive to say or something constructive to add to the thread please think twice before posting. i know you are new here (to this forum), so please just take you time before posting and have a think first.

cheers,

I think you guys need to win something before you can start with that sort of comeback. Sure, England played well to beat us in the Semi Final of the Champions Trophy, but what happened in the Final? You had the West Indies 8 down with them still 80 odd short and you didn't win playing at home! It's funny though... for as much as we've dominated both forms of the game in recent times, the Champions Trophy is one tournament that's elluded us at this stage.

I think Warne will make a comeback to the one-day side in the next few months, despite Hogg's good performances this summer.
