Some perspective here -

New Baseball Stadium is expected to be about $560M

Bush pledge of aid to Tsunami victims is $35M

Thats 1/16th the amount DC is going to spend of taxpayers money on a Baseball Stadium

Have a nice day :)

The Washington Post has on the front page of their website that the US has raised their aid to $350 million. Of course that is still less than the stadium but at least more than the $35 million. We will see if the US raises it again after Powell and Jeb Bush get back from their trip to the region of the tsumani.

That is my bet as well. I can see W adding some big bucks when Jeb gets over there and sees just how bad it is compared to the Hurricanes we had this year.

I also think that little things like deploying two Navy battle groups and countless USAF airlifts are in that $350 million figure.
