James Beattie. After first offering Laurent Robert and Officer Bramble. NUFC have now thrown in the option of Darren Ambrose. Plus 5 million. The Saints are skint. So it looks good. Come on the Toon.

Ambrose, Robert, Bramble, and 5 million all for Beattie. Holy crap! Saints don't want much, do they? I'd gladly be rid of Robert and Bramble, though. However, I'd like much more for Souness to go after a quality defender rather than another striker.

I agree we need to get Boumsong and one more quality defender before thinking about a striker.

Beattie is the only forward that can fill Big Al's boots. Robert is a lazy French Twat. Bramble is fcuking s!t. Ambrose is an ugly fcuking tosser. I would happly give Southampton them three fcukwitts plus 10 million. Thats why i am not manager like. I fcuking hate that lazy French bastard.

Was that a Keegan quote from the famed NUFC - Liverpool games back in the mid 90's ?

No. Honestly. Its mine. Keegan might have said ' if they score 3 goals. we will score 4 goals. ' Americans are class.

Do you bet mate? Because i bet that Beattie joins NUFC. I am willing to put £10 on it. Honestly. He would be mad to join Everton. There is the whole of January to go. NUFC has some pulling power.

I'm no dummy. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if the deal fell through. That's the way everything goes when it's Everton-related.

Its just that the English media are speculating all the time. The Boumsong deal was off. Then on. Then off. Then on again. And we sign him in the end. :) :) :) :)

While I agree that he would be insane to join Everton, there is not the whole of January to go. Redknapp gave him 48 hours to make up his mind (Redknapp wants the money now so he can do his wheeling and dealing sooner rather than later). If we were going to hijack this deal, we would have to do it pretty quickly.

Normally, I'd agree with you about NUFC having more pulling power, but look at the league table. Everton is poised for a spot in Europe next season, and we're...not.

But if we don't get some help, we can kiss Europe goodbye.
