Quick question for all you soccer pros. With all the different leagues and such it's so hard to keep up, does anyone know the following:

How many teams (in each different league) get promoted and demoted? I know it's different for each league, does anyone know all of them, or where to find such info?

How many yellow cards must be earned during the season for a player to miss the next match? Again if someone knows the rules for each country that would be fantastic! Don't know where else to ask, thought here would be best!
Thanks guys

I'm not much of an expert but as far as I know, the higher level English leagues relegate the bottom 3 teams each year. The top 2 from the next level down are promoted, with 3rd through 6th fighting it out for the third spot. This process is similar in the lower levels such as League Two and the Nationwide Conference, but with minor differences.

Soccernet is nice enough to give the whole breakdown at the bottom of the tables of each (English) division:

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/tables?league=ENG.1&cc=5901

Good luck with the rest of your inquiry...

I only know for sure in Germany:

1st divison: 3 last out of 18 get relegated into 2nd division
2nd division: 3 first out of 18 get promoted while the 4 last get relegated into their respective one of the 2 regional 3rd divsions.
3rd division (north and south): first 2 out of (usually) 18 get promoted, the last 4 get relegated into their respective regional 4th divisions. (there are 8)
Im writing usually cos for example tzhis season there are 19 teams in 3rd division north. I dont really know why though...

You need 5 yellow cards to skip one game...

Italy:

Serie A: 3 go down
Serie B: 3 go up
4 go down
Serie C1: 2 top teams are up automatically, the 4 teams following them have a play-off.

It has something to do with the teams releagted from the 2. Bundesliga. If for example 3 northern and only one southern team are relegated, the RL Nord will play with one team more the next season (as 3 teams would be relegated to this league instead of only 2). If a RL plays with 19 teams 5 clubs are relegated instead of 4, so that the league can play with 18 teams in the following season again.
