Palace are utter crap. 4-1 Spurs. :D

hehe heh! That'd rule! But its always these gay teams that roll us over and bum us frantically from behind, and not even having the common courtesy of giving us a reach-around. Damn them. Damn them to hell!

So, when Davis is back, and Mendes is kicking arse still, what of Carrick and Brown? Should they be superceded, or should we stick with a winning formula?

Thank Christ JJ has gone to Watford. Now jol can't be tempted to use him should the bubonic plaque break out in the squad.

This game is tailor made for Atouba and his twatty tricks. It is tailor made for Defoe to have a poke. From anywhere he desires. Tailor made for Spurs fans to sing 'You're Spurs, and you know you are.' to Routledge. Tailor made for Kanoute to jog about like he really doesn't care. Tailor made for Jol to prove to Dowie, that the Palace oaf really isn't fit to 'fix Jol's bootlaces.'

This crap about Mendes being unhappy about being on the right of midfield! Utter crap! If you're in a team thats winning, you'll play anywhere!

I'd always stick with Carrick, i think since Jol praised him he has been superb. Shades of Hoddle? Brown is making it hard to drop him.

Kanoute ripped Palace apart in the cup last year, with a massive helping hand from Dalmat. Kanoute and Defoe... ooh suits you sir :)

We sound pretty confident for a side that struggled the majority of last match against Norwich don't we?

I agree that Norwich are better than the hapless Palace, but come on they do have young Wayne and he could put one past us if we aren't careful.

1-0 Spurs, but I hope it isn't a crap victory like the one vs. Norwich, we weren't convincing at all.

I think Jol will do some more rotation, Naybet and Atouba are a bit injured so will likely be replaced by Gardner and Ziegler. Defoe in but quite possibly Redkrapp as well.

Another win to lead us into the Everton would be class http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif

For some reason I'm very nervous about this one. BUt then again I've been very nervous about the last five, too!

The thing that's been wonderful about Carrick for me, and that I hadn't expected (perhaps from ignorance) has been his capability in a holding role. When he's lain deep, he's been able to disrupt attacks, win defensive headers, take back the ball. So we get playmaking from very deep in the field, which is invaluable, but also maybe keeps out the player who was for me the best of the first six weeks, Sean Davis. I think Carrick stays.

I think Brown stays too until we give our new wingers (whoever they may be) a chance in January. The reason is that with our current crop of wingers he's really our only cutting midfielder, the only one who looks a threat to get into the box and put one in. With Atouba and whomever's on the right, he's our only real midfield threat to score from the run of play. If we have Wilhelmsson and a fit Simon Davies, of course, I think you may see a more deeply-laying, posssession-style midfielder to pair with Carrick, Davis on the road and Mendes at home, or something like that.

Robinson; Pamarot, Gardner, King, Edman; Ricketts, Carrick, Brown, Ziegler; Kanoute, Defoe. Subs: Fulop, Keane, Redkrapp, Mendes, Davenport.

there's a bit of a reality check for us.

Where i think it is 2 dropped, it's also a fair result. 1st half was all them and 2nd was all us.

BUT, we do gain a point on Everton who lost 2-0 to Charlton.. Everton had Ferguson sent off and will miss the game with us.

Spurs to do Everton!

What happened today? Did Kiraly stand on his head (as he is very capable of doing)? It sounds like the game must have been free-flowing (with as many shots as were taken by both sides), but still the low score. Were there lots of poor shots taken from all over the pitch?

Palace can be a pretty pesky team. They seem to have a bit more quality in midfield and with Andy Johnson compared to a side like Norwich. Plus, Kiraly really is supposed to be a sight to behold as a shot stopper.

Please beat Everton. They are vulnerable. You have got to figure out a way for your midfielders to dominate possession a little more and boss some of these low-skill, high-effort squads.

A few more setbacks and Everton will have to think about selling Gravesen or risk losing him in the close season. Then they will fall to pieces and it will be a battle between Middlesbrough and L'Pool for fourth place. Maybe Roonaldo will get a big suspension and SAF will have to play David Bellion at striker and they will plummet down the table too. Who knows - maybe there will even be room for Tottenham in UEFA Cup or something.

I'm slightly worried that the 5 man midfield of Palace caused us such trouble but we've got a much better 5 man midfield to face on saturday. I'm not sure of the best way to approach it because we really need to keep Carrick and Brown playing the way they usually do.

It's always sad when a winning run turns into an unbeaten run. Apparently, Johnson's goal came out of nowhere. We needed 3 points today.

It's unfortunate, very similar to the Norwich game in that the team started poorly, then had a strong spell in the 2nd half. The difference is that the team did not get the 2nd goal to kill the game and then gave up a soft equaliser just as the game looked like winding down in our favour. Sloppy really, and Palace were determined enough and had a goalscorer up front to punish us.

Rebounding against Everton would be great, better to draw this game and win that than vice versa.

F#ck Palace... that is all I have to say about this result. Very disappointing... a loss would have been so much worse but this still sucks. :(

Palace's centre midfielders were physical, Michael Brown was O.K. with that but Carrick wasn't.

I think we will be active in the transfer window.
