When I was a kid they made me play Defence because I was tall, but In high School I played as a Striker because I was fast. But I really like playing as a Number 10, a Attacking Midfielder. Nowadays I pretty much play for fun, so my question is, What Position do you play or like to play in?

As you can tell from my name i'm a defender though its not my fav. position. My high school team plays a diamond defense and i'm one of the marking backs. Usually i get the "honor" of marking the other team's best player for the entire match. However, whenever i go play for my club team i'm a forward(which i think is my true position)

I'm a forward through and through. I know when to make runs, when to pass it off, and when to shoot. I'd be a midfielder, but I get winded too often to reliably run back to defend. When I'm in good enough fitness I perform midfield duties. Lastly, I play goalie on occasion. I've got my own stuff (read: gloves and different colored shirts) and I do love to play goalie (as a lot of strikers I'd imagine do), but I don't get the workout that I crave when I play keeper, even if I do my share of providing and attacking (indoors).
I DON'T play defense unless absolutely absolutely necessary. Bottom line is, I suck at it, and I get bored quickly doing it. I'm good at marking my guy if he doesn't have the ball, good at blocking shots and clearing, but I ALWAYS get tempted into making runs or moving along with the midfield. I just can't get the attacking bug out of my system.
There should be a poll on this thread!

I bet no one can guess what position I play.

I'm a "that's why he's here" kind of scorer on my Sunday team. I do shite all game , but then pop up and put one in. My dad calls them "garbage Man Goals", because the ball always seems to pop out right in front of me to put away. :D
I play winger/dmid in the more competitive league.

theres no need to brag, we know you suck....if u were any good you would play for a high level youth team. and if u played on a high level team you would never switch positions like that.

well i have never played 11 a side soccer, only indoor so i dont really have a position.
whenever i have played for fun i try sticking on the wing to utilize my speed. i just love running.
i am best at right back because i am righty and because i am a very good marker.
im not quite as good playing in the midfield because i am better defensively.
i also like playing on left because it is easier to dribble.

everything - except since there are almost on defensive players on most of the teams i play on, i tend to play defense, mostly side back.(but i've started at every position throughout my life.)

I play on the right wing or in the space just behind the front players.

We usually play 3 defenders and i play just ahead of the center defender like this:

X
But i can never tell if im doing a good job cuz i never have any spectular defensive plays, i just mark people a lot, and when i g2 to pressure the ball carrier he just passes off but i started there all season so i dont know. I think i prefer playing D on the wings since theres more 1-1 defense and i feel like thats where im at my best.

I've played them all. Sometimes in the same game. :)
With age and limited skills, I play where I do the least damage or where no one else wants to go (goalkeeper).

Right midfield. Sometimes I play up top. However, when I'm just playing with my friends, I play Center mid. I think my best position is up top though. I've got decent speed and decent footskills, and I can get into good positions to score. When I play outside mid, I can't cross very well on the run, only on corners and set pieces

When I played competitively I was usually a center mid, occasionally my coach would play me as a withdrawn striker and play a more defensive player in the midfield against the better teams.

I am a goalkeeper, the most pressure filled of the positions

I'd love to join a high level youth team. Know any youth teams looking for a 30 year old?
