This guy is a genious, but he gets little mainstream recognition. I heard that he's likely to leave Valencia. I hope this is true, because his ultraconservative coach (Ranieri) and his below-standard teammates aren't contributing to Pablo's evolution as a genius #10 at all. On the contrary, they only limit his abilities to the minimum because they try to adjust him to a more straightforward type of game that lacks any fresh ideas. I think that his years in Valencia were pretty much a waste...
What do you think?
Saludos.

i also think the wizard aimar is suffering because of ranieri`s defensive tactics, surely this style doesn`t suit him, injuries also have slowed his start to this season`s campaign but he was back at near full strength as they crashed espanyol 3-0. i think ranieri in the end will have no choice but to use him regularly since he is valencia`s most creative forces and definately one of the best attacking playmakers in europe.
if he was at an attacking team he will definately be very lethal, still i think he still has some time under him to prove the world of his extraordinally talent, valencia at times pack the midfield with many defensive mid holders , baraja, rufete, fiore is supposed to provide more creativity but he has struggled this term. i will see how the month of jan goes for the wizard.

Aimar has proven he is a great player, even playing for Ranieri at Valencia. He also makes the national team better when he plays. The only reason he is not mentioned among the handful of best players in the world is because of the injuries he's had, which slowed him down. That is his achiles heel. He is a small player and injury prone. Lets hope he can stay healthy, and I have no doubt if he remains healthy he will shine regardless of were he plays.

Pablo gets little mainstream recognition because Pablo is hurt alot. Simple as that. Valencia came back to win the league last year without Pablo, so don't say he has below-standard teammates.

Oh, but he has below-standard teammates. Each time he tries to make a quick play, he's limited by the other players' slowness. I'm not putting down Vicente, Mista and the rest, but the truth is that each time I watch them play, it seems quite evident to me that Aimar is on a different wavelength than the rest of his teammates. I'm not trying to put Pablo on a pedestal, because I know he has his limitations, but the truth is that he can't find anyone among his mates who'll help him develop his creative moves.
Valencia is just not working as good as they were during the last tournament. Some key players are showing a much lower level, and the coach isn't helping.

Pablo Aimar deserves better than Liverpool. That club has three above average players-Gerrard,Xabi Alonso and Milan Baros.Valencia are better. It would be a step down.

Pablo Aimar deserves better than Liverpool. That club has three above average players-Gerrard,Xabi Alonso and Milan Baros.Valencia are better. It would be a step down. Here are a couple of reasons why this can make sense for him in the long-term:
a) Valencia today are a better club, but their visibility worldwide is pretty low. Even on these boards you almost never hear Aimar's name mentioned as one of the young superstars of the game (I know he has been injured lately, yet still). At Liverpool his profile will triple.
b) Liverpool is working to become the club that it has been historically...one of the best in Europe. Whether they get there is not certain, but they are showing ambition. They went out and got the best Spanish manager (whom by all accounts Aimar got along with), and have Gerrard, Alonso, Barros, Cisse (lets not forget him because he's injured), and Kewell (only now showing some of his Leeds form) -- a very young and talented base for a formidable squad. Then you add Aimar....
c) The current trend is for the EPL to supplant Serie A and La Liga as the marquee league in the world. I'm not saying that it will have a better brand of football, I'm saying it will soon eclipse the others in term of money and star power. Its remarkable the number of players who have already made comments about wanting to play there...players from countries that have traditionally shunned the English game. Things are changing.
d) Finally, if it makes him happy, his football will show it.

He's doing the same thing anyone would in this situation. He's following his coach! He wouldn't be at the level he is now if it wasn't for his coach and to maintain it, he can only do what makes sense and is natural and that's follow him to whatever club he may be at.
It has nothing to do with Liverpool! Everythnig to do with the coach!

I also really hope his constant injuries end someday because if they don't he will be another one of those "could've beens" and that would be terrible for Argentine Soccer. I've already soured over Veron who "could've been" extraordinary but his constant injuries will soon end his career i'm sure.

Now Aimar is denying those statements through Valencia's official website. He says that they are false. He says he never talked to any english press and never made those comments. Valencia officials are also saying that they haven't received any bid for the argentine midfielder. Some are calling this story as part of fool's day. Looks like Fool's day came late for Europe.

I have heard rumors of Aimar wanting to come to Liverpool, but right now the main priority in Liverpool is signing Morientes away from Real Madrid and trying to get Anelka from Manchester City, Aimar just isn't a priority right now, although I'd welcome him in a heartbeat!
