First of all, I hope Lavolpe gives the chane to the young ones for these games.
Also, even though Bulgaria (37) isn't exactly a soccer powerhouse, I think it will be a nice match. I don't remember their record in euro 2004, but I think they only managed to tie a game, but I kind of liked how they played.
Now Malta (137), should we really play against Malta? I mean:
Suecia: Yay!
Bulgaria: Okie-dokie.
But Malta? they're ranked 137. I know the FIFA rankings shouldn't be taken too seriously, but I think there probably is a reason why they are ranked 137, just a wee bit better than St. Vicent and the Granadines. El Tri could play against a primera ''a'' club and would save the Malta guys a couple of bucks in plane tickets.
But hey, a friendly against malta is better than no friendlies at all, I guess.

We should play against other Nike-sponsored teams (Es el caso de Bulgaria, no se Malta), like the Netherlands and Portugal.

Well escuse my ignorance but i've never heard of Malta. Perhaps is good that we play a friendly with them, so we can send a combintion of the u-23 and u-20 teams, so they can get better experience, that way they can prepare themselves for the gold cup. That is of course, if Fifa allowes them to take the B team or should we call it C team

First of all how is Mexico playing more meaningless friendlies a good thing when 2005 is supposed to be a very busy calendar year for MFL teams?

Don't forget the Gold Cup in July.
That will be held between July 6-24. Mexico is an automatic qualifier. No specific match dates have been announced.

It's silly to play Malta to prepare for anything.
First of all, Mexico is not sending a team of U-20 or U-23 players to the Gold Cup. CONCACAF won't allow it. Mexico sent a really inexperienced team to the Gold Cup in 2002 and CONCACAF was really pissed off and almost fined Mexico for that and last year Mexico sent a much better squad and all was well.
Secondly, if this match is going to be played in June, it will be a preparation match for the Confederations Cup, not the Gold Cup. in the Confederations Cup, Mexico will play against Greece, Brazil and Japan, and I don't think Malta is similar in style to any of those, maybe Greece, but that would be a stretch.
Third, Mexico will send a strong team to Confederations Cup, I'm certain. For starters, its in Germany, where the World Cup will be, so why not send your A players to let them get a feel of Germany? Secondly, Mexico wants to win this tournament probably more than the Gold Cup, so again sending a top team makes more sense.
I just don't think a friendly against Malta makes much sense. Sure, it's in Europe and all, but so what? They should be playing against the top teams or second level teams. Heck, even the US managed to play in Europe against Holland and Poland in 04.
