i posted this on another WWSM-related site (http://www.fmusa4you.com/ - it is excellent, by the way), so apologies if any of you saw it there...

i was just wondering what you all think is a good way to begin playing WWSM. i am a newbie to the game and have never playing CM before. i'm thinking of taking a big-name team (Real Madrid, Arsenal, etc.) first, just so i can learn the different nuances, get a handle on the different options, etc.

does anyone here have any advice for a WWSM first-timer? what kind of early CM experiences did you guys have?

thanks...

I would agree with your first impulse. While to really play the game you ought to take a lower division team to international fame and glory, when I first started I played Arsenal for a bit, just to learn how the game worked without having to worry about who the good players are, who to put where, etc., etc. It's a reasonable way to learn the mechanics of running the game. Then when you're comfortable, you can do something a bit more challenging. And your life will disappear.
