Gay Footballers?

I happenned to see the "not that there's anything wrong with it" episode on Seinfeld last night and it made me wonder if there are any gay football players. You'd think there would have to be some but I haven't heard of any. So what's the scoop?

They just made fun of him. He was supposingly more culturally refined than the average British soccer players. I read that he was not a heavy drinker and enjoyed red wine liked most Frenchmen. It was a big contrast from the drinking culture in British soccer. He is actually married with kids.

Yes, very much so. He is not much liked by the Liverpool fans for being a snidey ********** whenever we play them. (Robbie Fowler upset him oncce very publicly (got a ban for it)).
During our away match at Southampton last year, Le Saux was being subbed just before half-time, so we started the chant of "le Saux, he takes it up the *rse!" with much of the away end joining in, much to our satisfaction; however, there then followed a moment of actue embarrassment for us when the 8 year old kid in front of us was heard asking his dad: "Daddy, daddy, what does that mean?" The dad was not able to explain. :)

As far as I know he was the first (and only) professional footballer that admitted his homosexuality. He comitted suicide in 1998... :(
