3) If you have a car (and you do, right?), you could do worse than Gaithersburg or outerlying Silver Spring. They seem removed, but it's a short ride to the Metro or into town.
My boss at Soccertowne lived in Silver Spring for a bit. He didn't say anything bad about it, though I've only been actually "in" it (i.e. walking around) 2 or 3 times.

4) Prince George's County is much cheaper (College Park, Bowie, Largo, etc.), but know that much of the county is a high-crime area. It's also where all the former residents of DC that had to move out when rent went out of control moved to.
High crime and generally not cool. Bowie is quite suburbanized, but probably too far from the Metro.

5) Virginia - bleh. Arlington isn't awful, if you must; Wilson Blvd. area (Clarendon, Rosslyn, Courthouse metro stops on the orange line) has a decent music scene from a couple of clubs there, but it's still Virginia.

The call was debatable, but he'll get it more often than not. The goal itself was fantastic, but won't hold up for even goal of the year (Santino Quaranta, 40 yards out vs. Dallas). Actually, I may be biased, but I thought Etcheverry's freekick vs. the Fire was as good or better.

Sat. spent the morning by the pool. Then went to Old Town and gambled at the Horseshoe. I dug it down there. Definitely a different scene than the strip. Lots more old people and mullets running around. Good stuff.
I've read a couple of things about off-the-strip Vegas. Sounds like an interesting place, in a comically trashy sort of way. Mike Tyson hangs out there.

Then it said there was another special guest they wanted to welcome. Kristopher Nordstrom, will you please stand up. Kristopher is a scientist and has unlocked the secret of cold fusion. Everyone, give Kristopher a round of applause. It was pretty funny...didn't help me score any chicks though (if solving the world's energy needs can't get me laid, I'm in trouble...)
The show was amazing though. Really cool music, very cool visuals. It really made me yearn for a couple of bong hits. But it was one of the coolest things I'd seen.

The other room was a lot more chilled out and the DJ was playing all sorts of underground hiphop. I couldn't believe it. It was like he was using my CD collection or something. So I was enjoying myself. Until my friend that I was with totally disappeared. I was talking to these girls, and they ask me who I'm there with. I turn around, and my buddy's gone. So now the girls think I'm a loser since I'm alone. Turns out, my friend got kicked out for getting into a shoving match with some other meathead....idiot.
Solid about the DJ. Not cool otherwise.

(it's amazing how friendly I can be after 18 hours of straight drinking).

Would you like to tell everyone what you had in your hand at the time you answered the door Mr. Nordstrom?"

It wouldn't have been that bad, but I had gotten in trouble again and knew I'd be back in front of the same dean in less than a week.

There are a lot of sections where people will complain if you stand. However, if you go to 120 (La Norte, right behind the north goal), standing and singing will be demanded and done for the whole match. Screaming Eagles and Barra Brava also stand, and the stands bounce under them, but might be a bit more stodgy about things in general. La Norte is your best bet.

+ Sucks about Santino. He's such a stud in CM01/02 that I want to say that I've seen him play. It'll impress all the European friends. However, I forgot about Bobby Convey, so that'll be cool.

-Today was odd. I got up, took the first test (went well), and immediately came home to study (read: learn the material). I didn't have enough time to cover everything before heading back to do the next test. It didn't go all that well, but I should get a C for the course.
-After that I went to Chevy's with Troy. He went on a 5 minute rant about women which was pretty funny.
-I have nothing much else to say. Damn tests took up most of the day.
