Caroline? McCrum (do you live in DC now?)? We should go to Chick-Fil-A before hand. Also, I think I will be staying in Alexandria.
+ Before anyone warns me about going to see DC United, yes, I know they can't score, but I'd still like to see Santino, Pope & Benny Olsen.

Me!!
You won't see Santino due to injury but the others will be there along with Ray Hudson on the sidelines who is always amusing.

And my Oldham game is dead :( After a 2nd and 1st division title, League Cup win and Vans Trophy it's all gone. I won't get to see how my strikeforce of Josh Wolff, Luis Figo, Helder Postiga, Elber and Rolando Zarate would do in Europe. Woe is me.

I wasn't sure. I will try to put it on the yahoo site then. I'll let you know when (if) I make it work. Internet access is spotty today, at best.

OGHT - A couple of tips if the G'Town gig doesn't work out:
1) Be online tomorrow at 3 p.m. and go to www.washingtoncitypaper.com . It's the local "alternative weekly" and it updates its classifieds section then. There is a serious, serious housing shortage in DC (~99% occupancy will do that), so it's a lot like a race. Get the listings right at three, start calling immediately, and go visit apartments THAT evening, if possible, with checkbook in hand.
2) Anything within four blocks of the Metro will be a minimum of 33% more expensive.
3) If you have a car (and you do, right?), you could do worse than Gaithersburg or outerlying Silver Spring. They seem removed, but it's a short ride to the Metro or into town.
4) Prince George's County is much cheaper (College Park, Bowie, Largo, etc.), but know that much of the county is a high-crime area. It's also where all the former residents of DC that had to move out when rent went out of control moved to.
5) Virginia - bleh. Arlington isn't awful, if you must; Wilson Blvd. area (Clarendon, Rosslyn, Courthouse metro stops on the orange line) has a decent music scene from a couple of clubs there, but it's still Virginia.
That's all I have to say now.

-Liam I ended up not going to the match at all. But I watched it on TV if that counts
-CM players, I've learned to keep saving my game after every 10-15 matches or so. Its annoying, but whole seasons of mine have not been lost
-You dumbass Fire fans. Hristo's goal was nice, but one of the best goals ever in MLS? Get real. He shouldn't even have been awarded a free kick
-Veronica Paysee should still be shot
-bye bye

I really don't have a random thought, I just like seeing my screenname on this thread.
In other news, my ass no longer needs its own zip code. Which would help explain why my shorts, which used to fit comfortably, keep trying to fall off. It's all part of my three phase plan to become a chick magnet...
Phase 1: Lose weight, slim down
Phase 2:
Phase 3: Ladies love me!

-I just got to the best part of the Fire's excuses. The ref deliberately headed the ball over our goal? Even Metro************ers dont have dumbass excuses like that.

I won't be at the DC game the 31st. Mainly because I refuse to drive up to that place (northern virginia) for a long time, but secondly because UVA's tournament is last weekend in August. Caroline, you should come Friday to the games! I have no classes, but the 29th is Margot's birthday so we'll prob be having a party that nite, meaning I will probably only stay for the UVA-Kentucky game (one of my posters on the college boards' son plays for Kentucky!) which is at 5. So you should play sick that day and come to the game.

I used to laugh at the notion that Superman could hide his identity by simply putting on a pair of glasses. But then I got to thinking, how many people have seen me without my glasses on? Not a whole lot. Obviously, this must be what's keeping the womenfolk from throwing themselves at my feet.
And on another note, free is always good.

I bet when Matty scored he ripped of his shirt to reveal an undershirt that said: "I love Liz and want to live in her women only mansion!!" :D

I bet you're right.
And it's only TWO of us in the mansion. I might have to move out though when Matty proposes to me.

I haven't had the chance to see what I missed over the weekend, but hopefully nobody lost a limb, or anything.
That being said...Vegas. It kicked my ass. I'll give you guys the run-down.
Thursday, get out of work about 10:30 PM. Still had to go home, pack, then wake up at 3AM in order to make it to Raleigh for my 7 AM flight.
Friday in Vegas, hung out at the pool for a while. Then we motivated and went to some casinos. We hunted for a casino with low stakes tables, and room for me and my friends to all sit together. We ended up at Barbary Coast, which actually was pretty good. Lots of young people...cheap tables. But I still managed to lose about $200 in about an hour or so. I think karma decided to kick my ass...I made a joke about people with lazy eyes, only for our next dealer to have one of the worst lazy eyes I've ever seen. We then went around hitting other casinos on the strip til about 3 in the morning. The highlight was running into a Mexican family and taunting them about the World Cup.
Sat. spent the morning by the pool. Then went to Old Town and gambled at the Horseshoe. I dug it down there. Definitely a different scene than the strip. Lots more old people and mullets running around. Good stuff.
Then I went to go see Blue Man Group. The show freaking rocked. 5th row, right in the middle. Before the show, there was an electronic sign board. I didn't really notice it at first, but it said for some girl to stand up, and that everybody ought to give her a hand because she was a gold medal winner. Then it said there was another special guest they wanted to welcome. Kristopher Nordstrom, will you please stand up. Kristopher is a scientist and has unlocked the secret of cold fusion. Everyone, give Kristopher a round of applause. It was pretty funny...didn't help me score any chicks though :( (if solving the world's energy needs can't get me laid, I'm in trouble...)
The show was amazing though. Really cool music, very cool visuals. It really made me yearn for a couple of bong hits. But it was one of the coolest things I'd seen.
Eventually that night, went to Baby's in the Hard Rock. Now I normally hate "clubs"...especially in Vegas, where everyone is trying really really hard to be too cool. But this place was cool. Two rooms...one a big dance club type place where they were playing alot of commercial rap (but some fairly decent commercial stuff...like Biggie and old Dre and Snoop). The other room was a lot more chilled out and the DJ was playing all sorts of underground hiphop. I couldn't believe it. It was like he was using my CD collection or something. So I was enjoying myself. Until my friend that I was with totally disappeared. I was talking to these girls, and they ask me who I'm there with. I turn around, and my buddy's gone. So now the girls think I'm a loser since I'm alone. Turns out, my friend got kicked out for getting into a shoving match with some other meathead....idiot.
By this time it's 3 in the morning, and I've got a 6:50 AM flight out of Vegas. So I decide to just play blackjack until I have to go to the airport. I find a table and it turns out that everyone there is Mexican except for me. I taunt them repeatedly about the World Cup, but they were actually good guys. One kept trying to kiss the dealers...it was hilarious. Later on some Fulham fans came and sat for a while. I was making all sorts of friends (it's amazing how friendly I can be after 18 hours of straight drinking).
Flew back into Raleigh...absolutely miserable. My first priority on landing, was to find a good place to take a nice long dump. So I decide to head downtown and find a hotel. I park in a lot for permits only, but it's Sunday evening, so I figure it won't really be a problem. It never is in Charlotte. So I come out of the hotel after dumping, only to see my car on the back of a tow truck, heading down the street. Beautiful. So I ended up paying $100 to take a dump. Not good times...bad times.
I killed some time though, hanging out in a park, getting some dinner, and going to get a coffee. I took three dumps in the coffee shop, so they thought I was some kind of freak, I'm sure. But I eventually made it to the Roots show. They were badass as usual. Highlights included Black Thought singing Super Freak, their cover of Salt N Pepa's "Push It" and a dub version of "Silent Treatment". Solos were all quite good too. I'm glad they've got Ben Kinney (guitar player) in the band...gives them a better sound. It was weird though being that tired.
Drive home SUCKED. I was really struggling the last 40 minutes. Had all windows down, and was forcing myself to sing along with the CD's I was playing.
Today, I'm absolutely worthless. I don't know if any of the above made sense, but it was a good time and definitely worth it.
