God damn it. Things are starting to get rough at Oldham...
Sylvain Wiltord is a whiny bitch.

well, its not really 5 in the back. its 2 defenders and 3 defensive mids, with two of the d-mids making runs well into the offensive half. use this with tactics set to attacking, short passing, and figure out who needs to be crossing or trying through balls.
Oh I know. I'm just anal.

My only experience with a whiny bitch (Ferdinand Vierklau) ended with him being sold to Crystal Palace. Of course, he was much less talented than Wiltord...

The real crap about the Wiltord situation is that he BEGGED me to take him over the close season because Arse was releasing him at a much reduced rate and he wasn't getting along with Wenger. Now he comes here, does well, and bitches constantly. "Feels he is too good for the club"...eat my ass Frog Man.
Chris, your tactic is a lifesaver. Thank you. I just killed Man United away with it and may yet earn a UEFA Cup slot.

ToZoMo just asked to be transfer listed...this isn't good.
That Brasilian you reccomended, J, isn't in my game. Any other suggestions? Boca is no good, scouts say he can't get a work permit.

Depressingly, Mike Burns will get that work permit if my game is any indication.
Tieme Klompe at Heerenveen will probably cost you a good amount, but he's young and very very good. He's valued at 3 mil. pounds after 1.5 seasons. Heerenveen also recently bought this 19 year old Yugoslav, Dragan Sladakovic. He's only valued at 1.5 mil. and has a 20 for positioning already.
Keep tabs on Bocanegra though. He's just now been called in a few times...once he qualifies for that work permit, he'll be dy-no-mite.

Well, I've finished 8th in the league...
ToZoMo withdrew his transfer request, but Wiltord put one in. I'm gonna sell him as his value has increased mightily and see if I can find another good striker.
Just gave Junichi a new contract and he's quite happy.
Also sending feeders out to Ljungberg...he wants to leave Arse so I'll give it a try.

--So I started a new game with West Ham because I have to win the EPL with them. I've bought the Clint Commander though. I just finished the preseason with a morale boosting thumping of a 2nd division Portuguese squad. I'm sort of scared because none of my forwards scored in the 3 preseason games until Clint scored in the 78th minute of the last game. Until then it was all midfield goals. I've got to strengthen my D because with the exception of Rigobert Song everyone is slow and crap.
--In all my games Boro becomes a powerhouse and Arsenal heads into mid-table obscurity. In my game with Oldham, Arsenal in one of the relegation spots with 19 games played.

And there's the pain in the but. You get good players and good results and then asswipes steal all your good players. God forbid the bastards should be loyal and stay with the manager that made them what they are.

Hello.
Oldham Athletic still freaking rules, despite our untimely exit to Litex in the UEFA Cup.
And I just bought Claudio Reyna.
Our lineup in my third season with Oldham (and first in the Premiership after consecutive promotion playoff victories and last season's League Cup win over Man United):
GK: Hahnemann, Marcus (USA)
DF: Primus, Linvoy (ENG)
DF: Parkin, Jonathan (ENG)
DF: Grondin, David (FRA)
DM: Inamoto, Junichi (******)
ML: Ziege, Christian (GER)
MR: Haining, Will (EIR)
AM: Reyna, Claudio (USA)
LF: Wiltord, Sylvain (FRA)
CF: Mokokuo, Tonton Zola (SWE)
RF: Xausa, Davide (CAN)
My Oldham squad
GK: Marshall, Andy (Eng)
DF: Pereya, Norman (Arg)
DF: Roque Junior (Bra)
DF: Wilson, Scott (Sco)
DF: Neil, Thomas (Eng)
DM: Holloway, Darren (Eng)
ML: Djordic, Bojan (Swe)
MR: Johnston, Alan (Sco)
MC: Postiga, Helder (Por)
FW: Figo, Luis (Por)
FW: Wolff, Josh (USA)
--I had ToZoMo but Celtic started sniffing around and he wanted to leave so I got 20 million plus a 15% sell on. In two years in Scotland he's only scored 2 goals in 24 games
--Alan Johnston is a Great right sided midfielder. He can play for any team in any league. If you wait a year you can get him cheap because he doesn't get regular playing time at Rangers
--I had Claudio lined up to come to Oldham on a free but he decided to retire. I'm gonna try to buy the Pope from Watford. It's tough being the best defender in the Premiership when your manager doesn't believe in you
--The best part of this game is getting players who would never, ever go to your club on free transfers. The past two years I've had Batistuta and Bergkamp as my starting forward in the 1st division

two strikers, a central AM who makes forward runs straight up, two central mids, three defensive mids (the right and left ones make runs all the way up to where the AM starts), and two defenders. its basically a 5-3-2, but modified by slotting the central defender into a central d-mid position and making all the run arrows. i always use this tactic.
The guy's correct. I use a 5-3-2 attacking that is quite similar to this with the exception being that I have three defenders and the two defenders on the wing double as midfielders. Everything else is basically the same. The wing players have to be quick, defend well and cross well or else they are rather useless.
Still struggling a bit at Sunderland, but that's okay. This season is really to make sure we stay in the Premiership, maybe make a nice FA Cup run and finish in midtable. I need time to build the squad and going into Europe next season would be a disaster as I have little to no depth.
Although, really, I am having the worst CM game out of everyone here.
+ Now that FFA posts don't count towards your total, couldn't you post in FFA a lot and still have a post count of zero? Weird.

- JeffMc: When you're in New Orleans, two things you must do: Eat breakfast at Mothers and drink a Hand Grenade. One will fill your stomach up and the other will remove said contents real quick.
- When I was in New Orleans, this guy with a huge gut was walking around Bourbon St. with a sign that read "Hit Me".
- Lazy Daisy the Bassett Hound is on her way to my house in a few hours. The only bad thing is that her little stumpy legs and big tummy make it impossible for her to get up my stairs, so I have to carry her fat doggy ass up and down the stairs. But the fact that she's a sweetheart more than makes up for it.
- I have to play CM. I tried to start a game in the lower divison in Spain, but it sucked so I'm starting another one with the newly updated rosters and my new 3-4-3 formation.
- I hate when my socks come out of the laundry all scratchy.
- I miss playing softball. I love being angry.

Another CM tip brought to you by the one and only, the ever incomperable, Own Goal Hat-Trick...
do this. manage the United States. add a manager and take control. its really not THAT much work, and, you can manage it better than the computer. The computer will never pick the BEST players, but you can. I remember once, a player, Scott Martinez (came into the game around 03?), was a defender, had AWESOME stats, most everything was above 12, tackling, marking and speed were ALL 20, and that was all when he was only 19. i didnt edit that either, and he couldnt earn a U-21 call up, let alone a full call up to save his life.
anyways... if you manage the US, you can pick the best players, and that way theyll get work permits as well. No more Cobi Jones. No more Mike Burns. No more Kevin Hartman.
word.

season update...
after 19 games with Leeds, top of the table. 17-1-1. 56 gf, 21 ga. 52 pts.
i have 6 of the top 7 highest avg rated players (viduka, bowyer, harte, smith, finnan, rio), the top scorer (viduka, 11, smith and bridges are at 6 and 7 with 9 and 8 goals, respectively), and the top set up man (bowyer, 14), also have several players with 5 or 6.

word. This is a brilliant ************ing idea. Sadly, your modified 5-3-2 wont work with my Sunderland squad, I'm still pretty weak on the flanks sans Julio Arca.
I had lined up a 5 mil pound (how the hell do you make the pound symbol) bid for Djbril Cisse after he said publicly he wanted to move to my club, and Auxerre accepted the bid, but when it came time to offer the contract to him, he backed out. What a focker.
Chicago wont sell me Bocanegra, I've offered up to 8 mil for him, and he's quite pissed they wont let him move.
