Although it was one game, Skroce takes pride in his selection and was happy to play. He hopes to play for the U-21 team again soon, with a possibility of that happening in the summer of 2005 if the team travels to Chicago to play at Soldier Field as planned.

from this article:

about a kid from UIC playing for the Croatian U-21 team. Granted it is from the UIC SID, so I don't know the validity of this rumor.

Before Skroce could take the field, the players had a two-hour instructional meeting that went over goals kicks, free kicks, places, throw-ins, and other on-field sets.

You can tell this guy knows nada about soccer. On field sets?

Correct me if I'm wrong but what Euros call U21s, we call U23s.

Does that have anything to do with the exchange rate?

LOL. Just that European Olympic qualifying happens almost 2 years before the Olympic Games, IIRC.

(At the same time, we simply field a U-21 team and call it U-23, because the players are the ones who will be eligible for the next U-23 tournament.)
