It sure seems that way. FFC was riding high on a wave of luck and solid play, then Saha left and life for The Cottagers hasn't been the same. I know that you are back at Craven's Cottage and it is a wonderful ground, but I'm sure you must be disappointed that you are not vying for Europe.

Obviously the team has struggled in the last 12 months. It is disappointing as the players on the squad this season are not that bad. They just do not seem to play together well. Injuries to Jensen, Bonnissel, Boa Morte, Malbranque, Lee Clark, among others has really slowed the progress of this team down. What is hard is that this team does show signs of life at times. The 4-1 win over Newcastle, the 2-1 loss against Chelsea in the Carling Cup was a good performance, the 1-0 win over Tottenham in October were all things we could point to as putting us in the right direction, but it has not come to be. The only thing consistent about Fulham this season has been their inconsistencies. Just when you think the team has turned a corner, they play like crap. It is frustrating.
However, I do feel this team will tough it out and get some good results in the second half of the season. I do not think it will start at Arsenal on Boxing Day, but I hope it gets going on the 28th at home to Birmingham City. That is the match I am really pointing to. I have faith in this team and this club. Good things will come our way again soon!

You would think with FFC owner, they would be sitting pretty with the big boys, but it is obvious that he EITHER doesn't HAVE the $$$ OR doesn't want to spend it on FFC. Pity.

Yeah, Al Fayed has definitely scaled things back some in the last few years. He is willing to spend some money, but not crazy amounts of money. I think he is content if Fulham stays mid table to be honest with you.
