Maybe they are just played in the US during Champions League games because I don't seem them played at any other time. But are the PS2 commercials with the two guys playing games and the Vulture eating turkey on in England or Europe?

If so what exactly in the hell is going on during the commercial? What is the point? Everytime I see the commercial different things are happening like the bird is eating a turkey or one of the guys is in a cage but again what is the point or meaning of these?

Hopfully someone can help me out here because I have no idea what is going on with them.

What is the point of starting pointless threads?

While there is no "Champion's League" related point, I've been wondering the same thing too. Me and my friends have seen these commercials and no one has the least bit idea of what they mean. We've assumed there is some first commercial or series of commercials that explains it.

It really is a trite matter, but when you've seen them after 3-4 games, you start to wonder what the hell they are about.

All it is is advertising the Champions League footy game on the playstation 2. They sponser the champions league.

Its just a guy who uses his pet Vulture to put his friend off playing the game so he can win. Simple realy. Perhaps its just the British sense of humour that you don`t get.

If that is what you say the commercial then I appreciate the explanation. Although the other player really doesn't seem to be distracted or put out by the bird. It could also be that maybe all the commercials in the series aren't being shown so maybe I am we are only getting part of the story.

As for getting British humor I never really understood those comments. I don't know anyone who doesn't get British humor, if something is funny its funny. Those comments always seem to come from a need to distinguish oneself rather then someone not getting it.

Thanks for the explanation I will look at the commercials with your explanation in mind next time a CL game is on.

its just a meaningless ad. its not funny, interesting or whatever but the main thing is look at this thread, it has ppl talking, so imo its a good ad for ps2.

Now i heard not too long a go a strange reasoning behind it. It's almost certainly wrong but certainly entertaining and simplistic.

Buzzards tend to hang aroung creatures nearing death or looking as if they are gonna die soon! The concept is that these two clowns spend all their time playing PS2 and the bird begins hanging around, waiting for one to keel over! The original bird in the cage has already died from not being fed and Buzzard lives there now and has become part of the lifestyle.

SILLY right, but better than saying there's no explanation!

I'm fairly sure it's not a british made advert. I've seen it in Holland and Germany as well.
4-4-2 is one of the best Football Mags out there, just behind When Saturday Comes.

is the commercial memorable?

are you thinking about it now?

that is the point of the commericial.
besides that the vulture is distracting the guy so the other one can win.

i think it shows that PS2 is sooooo good that even if you got vultures next to you squaking at you, you ignore them and play your console

It is British made as the two actors have been in a few commercials before. The skinny one was in a series called the bill a while ago.

Watch the advert and you`ll see that the buzzard is the skinny ones pet (thats why the cage is there). You`ll notice that everytime the fat one is distracted by the bird the skinny one scores on the game. Its so simple I dunno why no one gets it. The skinny one is laughing at how scared the fat one is of his pet Vulture.

Why the hell would you have a Vulture as a pet?

Comedy or surrealism for that matter cannot be universally broadcast all over Europe.

There's probably a guy in Portugal pissing himself laughing when this comes on...

To put his friend off of his game of course. I have to say that the sense of humour is quite sureal and quite British. Its been on TV for a couple of years now. Thats why its funny that its being shown around the world. Doesent look like most of you get the humour.
