So Gordon Strachan has turned down Portsmouth, and the chance to swap Rupert Lowe for Milan Mandaric as his chairman, probably on the basis of the old 'frying pan and fire' principle. Let the speculation begin. It warms many a winter's pub night on the South Coast, I can tell you. The latest? Harry Redknapp will go to back to West Ham next summer while Glenn Hoddle will leave Wolves and finally return to St Mary's, now the coast is almost clear. He will get as his director of motivation, or whatever, Sir Clive Woodward, once the Lions rugby tour is over. And Portsmouth? I doubt it will be Steve Claridge yet a while. Though I do know they like the look of Tony Adams as a potential coach within the set-up.

Not while Browns in charge I think. So, entering cloud cookoo land, Sullivan buys the club, Harry takes over and starts grooming the next generation. Can I get Dowie in this dream somewhere?

I read that this morning too. I didn't realise that the Observer/Guardian were into dodgy rumour mongering. I had to check the date to make sure it wasn't 1st April!!

'Arry won't come back as long as Brown's there, so let's hope it's true.

I'm a little hazy on the details. In what capacity would Harry serve?

'Arry's still got what it takes, if he can give this kind of grief to Mandaric, the mere thought of him returning to UP should be enough to put Brown in his grave!
