We are currently tied with Liverpool for 6th but for goal difference and they have one game in hand.

If we keep up this streak we will be amongst the elite teams of this league VERY shortly.

Not bad considering we were nearing the relegation zone but a month ago!

Bring on victories against the minnow teams we are facing in the next few weeks.

It's very tight in there, although there is a bit of a gap between us and Middlesborough/Everton.

If we can keep picking up results, then with everybody else's inconsistency we can pull clear and make a top 6 place ours to hold.

Early days though, a couple of defeats or draws would drop us right back down to midtable.

ssssh ssssh! :)

It's kinda funny really, we've beaten 2 of the teams above us, drawn with the leaders and Liverpool and only lost by 1 goal to 2 others.

Lets not get too carried away, 2 defeats and we can be back down there, lets just take 1 game at a time :D

yeah could just be a belated new coach period of success. i am cautiously optimistic (don't know why should have learned my lesson by now ;) ) and would be happy with a top 10 place this season. anything else would be cream.

This has been a really nice run of form, but these are teams that we should beat on paper, at least.

The idea that this is the "new manager syndrome" seems to be at work, but Jol was around for a while before he took over. I think he's just done a good job of bedding players into the system and helping their confidence. His history suggests he knows how to get the best out of his players, and I hope he keeps it up here.

Europe certainly seems possible, but I'd like to reevaluate that goal right after the turn of the year. Everton, Chelsea and Man U in a league stretch, plus the FA Cup against Albion Hove, I think? But if we keep taking points off the teams below us, plus Villa/Boro/Liverpool/Everton, it is certainly doable.

honestly, although the wins have been great lets not get ahed of ourselves..we have seen spurs go beat newcastle at St. James then draw with WBA.
But lets keep up the good run of play, keep consistant.

This good run of form is welcome after four successive defeats.

But Europe? I dunno. At the start of the season, with Santini, I'd have thought a top seven or eight place was possible. To me, that's still on the cards.

I think we are stronger than we have been for a long long time but we have been here before ...
:Statto alert: I was looking at the Spursmad website the other day and seeing where we were at christmas in recent seasons. In 99/00, 01/02 and 02/03 we were sitting in seventh position with better records than we have this season.

However, one does feel that this season we are equipped with better players and a deeper squad (with the promise of more to come in January). Hopefully we wont have the normal Spurs fall off in the second half of the season.

But you know, once bitten, twice shy and all that

C'MON YOU SPURS !!

I'm cautious.

We have a solid set of players, but one notable injury to a player like King or Dafoe could see this run of form stop.

I'm also thinking back a couple of seasons when we were 6th after the new year (I think) yet fell back down the table. I don't see that happening again, but I'm still being pessimistic.

Euro qualification will be on the cards as long as Watford or possibly Liverpoool don't win the Carling Cup. There will then be an extra league place to serve as a route into Europe.

I would take top ten this season to be honest, anything else is gravy. A lot depends on what other sides are doing (obviously!!!), meaning there just doesn't seem to be much consistency by a lot of the other sides. The likes of Boro, Villa, Newcastle etc who in my mind would be main challengers for a UEFA spot are blowing hot and cold. The impt thing is to continue getting results against teams we 'should' be beating, and for our strikers to continue to be amongst the goals, especially Robbie who needs them!!! Brown is finally showing what he is capable of and Carrick is really looking class.
After the Jan window and the tough run that we have, i think things will finally shake out and we can really get a sense of where we are heading....
