when you shoot, to get a perfect shot, should the ball feel like it "barely leaves" my foot? I've practiced shooting for a while now, and I have a good shot, but it feels like it barely comes off my foot every now and again. What do you guys think? should i learn how to do this every time?

Ball feel isn't nearly as important as the results one sees on the shot. If the shots where you feel the ball come off lightly are the better ones in terms of velocity, and hook/knuckle then that would appear to be the right feel. Generally speaking it would seem to me that the shorter the ball is "on" the foot the better. Could this be the light feeling you describe?

I know this feeling. In this case a ball badly deflects from expexted trajectory. Reason:may be you strike it with inside and you probably keep your toe too low, so your foot now looks like an arc. If you wanna get a pleasant solid shot you need to make sure you strike a ball with your laces, your foot is 45 degrees against the ball, your toe down (yes, in this case you need to keep it low otherwise the ball won't stay low) Imagine your foot is like a big spoon.
