When people look back and see that Australia won by 9 wickets, they'll see it as an easy victory, but in the first innings when Martyn and Gilchrist came together with the score 5 for 171, we were under pressure and needed something special... enter Martyn with his superb innings of 142.

Rain has delayed the start of the 3rd day with Australia right on top in this match, thanks to Ricky Ponting's unbeaten century.
Australia to resume at 4 for 340 with Ponting on 155 and Gilchrist on 17, replying to Pakistan's first innings score of 304 all out.

I was listening to the ABC yesterday and they were discussing whether or not Gilchrist would get into the all-time best cricket team. Bradman is an obvious choice at #3 and the great West Indian all-rounder Gary Sobers at #6, and they were saying that even now, Gilchrist would be #7 in that side.

Stuart MacGill was a surprise man of the match choice in my opinion, especially considering Ponting and Gilchrist's superb batting performances.
Damien Martyn was named man of the series.
