Sat here in good old England i read today that Everton are Englands invisible team. This reporter was saying that people really should take Everton serious,he was complaining that when people discuss the premiership, they completely ignore Everton as a force in the title race.He said that they dont say they wont win or that they will drop down, they just dont mention them its as if we were invisible {Ken Lawrence The Daily Sport}Finally a reporter who thinks we are good enough to win the title

I think it's too early to tell. While it's nice to dream, I think most Evertonians are realists. We know there are a whole lotta games between now and the end of the season and anything can happen. It's gonna be a tight race between the top 5, I'd say.
As for the reporters, who gives a crap! At least if they're not talking about us, the boys won't let it go to their heads. :D

The Daily Sport <not that crap porn newspaper by any chance  >
Most people commenting on football never even give us a mention. The other night they said Manure are only 4 points behind The Arse and 9 behind Chelski. They forgot to mention that they are 5 points behind us who are lying in second place!!!

That because most people remeber that every year, while there is always one supprise outsider that comes on strong, only 2 teams have ever relinquished the title from Manchesters vice like dominance.
Since the Fisrt Division broke to form the Premier League:
1992-93 = Manchester United
1993-94 = Manchester United
1994-95 = Blackburn Rovers
1995-96 = Manchester United
1996-97 = Manchester United
1997-98 = Arsenal Football Club
1998-99 = Manchester United
1999-00 = Manchester United
2000-01 = Manchester United
2001-02 = Arsenal Football Club
2002-03 = Manchester United
2003-04 = Arsenal Football Club
2004-05 = ???

Now THAT'S sticking out your neck! I think CL is an admirable goal, but a stretch. And I really hope our boys make me eat my words!

I've said from the beginning of time as long as we finish above the shite that will do me. When we were sitting in 3rd I always knew Manure would come and catch us up and said 4th place is the best I think we can achieve. The Arse, Manure and Chelski have all ploughed in millions to make their teams. You could buy our whole squad for the price Chelski paid for 3 or 4 of their players and they sit on the bench every week!!

Well beginning of season - as always - Avoid Regulation! only goal. Finish above them a dream.
Now, we are as good as RS - but they have 1 major player injured and Thug Boy will win them a few. Charlton are a decent side on their day and we were unlucky - we got the first good chance, missed it, they scored 1-0. They play like us. Dunken is a knob, lost 2-0 - big deal!
We beat Man City no problem. Let's be positive. Win next game and we are back on track.
Lets see who we sign in January and how Wright and the defence get on. We are missing Watson and Osman on the right - possible long term. Yobo in midfield ok, but not him and Carsley, so we need someone on the right...any suggestions?
Sean Davis - is he injured? Maybe we'll go for him. Bit of a concern, however.

Ossie will be back for Saturday against the Spurs. Can't find an update on Watson, other than they thought he'd be back this weekend too a couple of days ago.

Even if you don't win the title or even get a CL spot when all is said and done, how much longer can EVerton hold on to Moyes? He was tarnished a bit last year but good results this year should put him back in the "brilliant young manager" category.

He has just signed a new contract and does seem a decent guy....
And where alse would he want to go.... MU? Maybe at the end of his contract and we couldn't argue with that. Lot of water under the bridge by then.
Scumton...Pompey...Newcastle...Tottenham...well they are all shite!
We need a signing to show our intent and lets hope Moyes does the business again. Statistics would say he is due to buy a duck egg, so we need to buy 2 decent (on paper?) players at least.

i agree with all this. since the beginning of the season all the newsies have been waiting for everton to drop out of sight. i hope everton makes them all eat sheit.
4th place MIGHT be the best you could ask for, but how great would it be to beat out #3 for the last CL place? and with a bunch of no-names up front. i love it. keep the faith, toffies
everton's success could be great for the sport as a whole; good ol' hard work, discipline and dedication should become more of a focus for other clubs, instead of trying to sign the biggest names and hoping they'll all like eachother

one question though: why not Beatie? he's not the greatest, but he's shown he's got mad skills. everton could use a good striker of his calibre; take some pressure off the defense, and get more insurance goals. 7 wins out of their 12 were 1-0. that's too close for comfort; their success is hangin by a thread
