Watched the game again last night on FSW

How come nobody is talking about this?

Clear penalty.

Rooney flops in the box and Man U get a penalty

Clear foul on Flamini and the ref waves play on

Conspiracy I tell you.

Its only Ray Parlour

Looked an obvious penalty in real-time and it looked even more of a penalty in the replay. But try telling that to certain people on the Chelsea board, and they'll tell you that it "was a fair shoulder charge", what they don't understand is - it's absolutely illegal to charge someone in the f-ing back.

I had asked Rick (and any others who were there) if it looked as bad in person as it did on tv.

I was shocked, it should have been a pk.

Exactly - If that happened to Shearer, Gerrard, Owen, or Rooney - the ref would of pointed to the spot faster than Marion Jones on steroids!

easy... the ref calls that, then he has to deal with the explanation of the henry free kick and this penalty.. "giving" arsenal 2 goals.. blah blah blah..
he wasn't going to give a penalty no matter what.. when it happened in real time, I thought "clear penalty", but was not at all stunned to see him just wave play on.. that's football.

Fine - you want to about the Henry Free-kick

1. Was the ref counting off 10 yards? - no

2. This means TH14 did not ask for 10 yards

3. If Eidur chooses to back off that is his own damn fault

I really don't think any one wants to talk about the freekick anymore-it has been discussed to death......
I think that Phishy was trying to point out that Poll knew that there would be a lot of questions about the freekick and decided not to go down that road with giving what some might deem another "controversial" call.

Footie lore generally dictates that calls usually even themselves out during the match.

But I thought that Parker was damn lucky he did not get the penalty call on that-he mowed over Flamini like a freight train.....

I've mentioned it a few times on the Chelski board and no one bit

Damn straight - they know all of England is against us retaining the title - but you know what - we are still going to do it any way - COME ON ARSENAL!

Rooney is English
Parker is English
Both refs are English

Does anybody else see a pattern here?

Spot on. Thought the same thing. We shouldn't have needed it though if Henry woudl have connected on that fatal miss. Oh well. Onward and upward.

Beat Pompey!!!

Come on Gunners!!

Not that this thread has no merit, but in light of what's gone on in the last 2 weeks it's a powder keg looking for a spark.

In the interest of NOT HAVING the same ding-dings back from last week, I'll close it.
