Well done to Auxerre for knocking the hapless Rangers football club out of
another European competition for the second time this season. Rangers
have proven time and again to be European failures, and this looks good on Alex McLeish...................is the sack coming? :) :) :)

Well, for the second year in a row, needing only a point at Ibrox to move on in the UEFA cup, rangers lose by 2 goals.

WOW! Feel the love. I am truly stunned that Auxerre bounced Rangers from the UEFA Cup.

I’m not. That was embarrassing last night. Why oh why did Eck tinker with the tactics again!

Indeed. Ricksen has proven this season that he is more than capable of holding a midfield role, yet McLeish played him at right-back??????

And there are too many other faults I could raise but whats the point? Tactics were all wrong.

Whatever else goes wrong, you can always rely on all the bitter bhoys like CdnBhoy67 to drool from the cleft palate at the prospect of no European Football for all the real Scots soccer fans.

Man, I hope you guys play defense like that next week against us. My grandmother could have scored on you lot tonight, an she's daid.

Serves you lot right with the attitude you've shown around here lately. They whom the gods would destroy, they first make proud.

Zurab is not a right-back or a midfielder. The only place he should be playing is center back. Andrews can GTF. His second touch is as bad as his first touch. Hutton should have been on from the start as well. I just don't understand why he felt the need to change things!

At least we turn up and admit we were pish when we get beat. Unlike Sellick fans who either don’t turn up or have an excuse.

Where is piggery faithful these days?

Never a truer word said.

Last night's defeat was an embarrassment, but at least we can acknowledge the fact -- we were terrible, were beaten by the better side on the night and there's nothing we can do now to change that.

If this had happened to Celtic, it would have been everyone's fault except those connected with the club..

I also forgot to mention Arveladze. What a bloody nightmare of a game he had!

Absolutely untrue and further proof of what I said above about your bulls*** holier-than-thou attitude. We've been bemoaning our upreparedness and lack of spark for European football for ages. Apparently you guys take as much notice as Celtic's Board of Directors

You only have to look as far back as the last Old Firm game to see that I am not talking mince.

Oh, you mean this thread?

Or This?

All I see is Rangers fans whooping it up and various other non-Celtic and Rangers fans slagging each other off.

I could go further back to find the various off-season threads bemoaning the lack of activity in the transfer market. But you get my point, which is, don't make accusations you can't back up.

Sadly, the Celtic participation on this board has kind of dwindled off. I too am wondering what has become of PF, especially since he's supposed to be a co-mod. The Canadian boy notwithstanding of course.

I agree you lot were terrible. We did not play our best in the CL against
better quality opposition then you faced in the UEFA Cup. We got a result
in the Nou Camp for the second straight season, not too many clubs can say that.We could have played better against that Ukrainian outfit, but thats football. The Board didn't give MON money to improve the squad, and they
suffered for it.

I was listening to the Clyde 2 post mortem on the Huns latest debacle when one of their disappointed fans called in to challenge the "experts" DJ and Hately who explained that the Huns lost to a "technically superior team". The caller pointed out, with some justification I think, that the Huns had fielded 10 foreigners in the starting line-up. How come Scottish teams made up of foreigners can't be technically proficient? Is it because when the get to the dark empire they are told to forget everything they know about football and just kick everything that moves? Is it because maybe Big Eck is tactically inept? DJ of course was dismissive as usual since he thinks nae c**t that calls in knows anything about the game. Apparently clubs in Scotland just don't buy the right foreigners, the ones that are tactically superior!
