The whites just drew against manu at home, Jensen might make a return with fulham at the valley.

I'd say keep the ball rolling with the same lineup.

Go Addicks!

I think this will be a good match. Under the bright lights at the Valley for Monday Night Football English style. I hope Fulham wins, but who knows. Their form is about as consistent as a politicians views on things. Anyways, good luck to the Addicks in this one.

If I were to make any change to the lineup it would be to replace Bartlett either at the start or at half time if he continues to be unproductive. And what I mean by unproductive is becoming invisible or stalling the counter attack.

I would much prefer to see either Jeffers or Euell up front at this point. I especially could see Euell doing a better job of holding the ball and going forward himself. He may not be as good at heading the ball as Bartlett, but he is a good ball winner. And Jason plays well defensively. If Jeffers can get beyond whining and could go forward with the ball some, I would put him on the pitch.

Then again, maybe Curbs is holding Jeffers out to bring him on for a winger if Thomas or Rommedahl get gassed.

Fulham can be tough. They have played better with Cole and McBride up front. Andy and Brian can work together rather well. I don't think Jensen will get a start even if fit with the Cottagers running a 4-4-2 right now. Claus is more likely to come on as a sub for Malbranque, don't you think?

Looking forward to listening to this one while at work and watching the tape later. Should be a good match -- with the Addicks coming out on top at home. Charlton 2 - 1 Fulham.

both times the epl review show was on, I missed it.. so I didn't get to see Bartlett miss that sitter against west brom. it doesn't sound like he is in form, but I do like his size against the fulham defense on set pieces and crosses.

awesome report, although you'll probably see franny jeffers as a 2nd half sub instead of lisbie.

good luck to both sides

Here is a link to the interview I did with BigSoccer Charlton fan KevRuth. It is a question/answer piece about the Fulham/Charlton match.

This ought to be a match that I enjoy watching regardless who wins. Charlton are my team, but Fulham are a close #2.

And it's live! unfortunately I'll have to watch the GameCast or see if I can find it on BBC or something online because I'm at work :(... but when I get home I can watch the tivo'd version.

By the way Servotron, when things start heating up for the Iowa Caucuses in a few years for the Hopkins/Bretos ticket, let me know. I will take the trip to Iowa to help the cause!!! Good luck in the match today. Should be fun. I hope we see some goals, preferably from the visiting team! :)

Excellent game. A little close at the end but we pulled through. 7th place and more reason why Curbs is the best coach in England. Now we just need a strong showing in the second half of the season.

That's three in a row! Well done! Curbishley is one of the best, and you are clearly a top-half club. I guess it just took a while to get things sorted out, becuase you lot looked awful a month ago. ;) I looked, and you've gone 5-0-2 from the last 7, and the two defeats were Man Utd and Chelsea...not bad at all.

Danny Murphy is playing well. That shot that hit the post would have been a sweet goal.

Yes! Well done Charlton, you've once again reminded me why I support you! Still haven't got the chance to watch the game, but the live audio was enough to know that we can hold our own against anyone in this league. We just have to bring our playing heads along with us EVERY time! :) 1 point behind Pool, let's overtake in the festive period!!!

Well done. We could have had one or more two goals. Murphy's should have been in the net. So close. I hope he is not pressing for that first one.

And I will have to look at it again, but if Euell doesn't get in the line of view, I think Jeffers scores on the cross from Konchesky.

Jerome Thomas just continues to impress and play well. Every time he gets the ball, he's got two coming to defend him. And he still finds ways to do something almost every time.

Murphy played well again -- as did most of the squad. Rommedahl again showed some flashes. But he looked like he needed a rest and should have come out sooner. I wonder if Jeffers could play that wide right role.

I must say, though, that the goal we gave up should not have been scored. Kiely has got to come off his line. McBride got the initial header just outside the 6 yard box. That's Kiely's territory. He must own the 6 yard box. That should have been a catch or punch for sure -- especially with two Addicks on the line.

Fulham did just like so many other clubs have done to us this year -- they just pushed us back into the goal. We cannot continue to give up such easy ones on set pieces.

I don't see Curbs replacing Kiely unless to rest him during this busy stretch. I hope we get to see Andersen against Southampton or maybe Blackburn -- at the least against Rochdale in the FA Cup on Jan. 8.

They really looked pretty good yesterday. I can't find fault with any of the players in this match. Kish and Matty kept the back clear in front of the defenders and Kish was just a mad man running around the pitch. Thomas once again is proving his point why he should be on the left and I thought Dennis played well on the other side. Hermann and Luke were making some superb runs down the flanks including Luke's great move as striker down the middle. Even Shaun looked better today.

I was quite sad for Danny. Two more inches to the left and it would have went in. At least his free kick was put into the net.

I didn't think the Fulham goal was Deano's fault. He went to his right to make the initial save when Danny cut in front of him. At that point he was in behind Murph and was helpless. If Danny doesn't move Deano catches the ball. However, I can't blame either one. They stopped the first shot. Radzinski just happen to be sitting in the right place for the rebound.

kev,

let me ask you this. picking any of the best keepers in the world, wouldn't all of them gone after that corner and either caught it or punched it out? Wouldn't Van Dar Sar have come out and knocked it out?

when a keeper has two on the line for him, he has got to come off and get that ball. now, i think deano is a great shot stopper. but he is becoming a liability on corners and set pieces that cross the ball in close. chelsea showed everyone how to score on us from such plays. just back us into our goal because kiely won't come off his line. crowd in and if you don't get the header you can scrape something up and put it in the net.

curbs has to change that. and if deano won't come off the line, then andersen should get his shot.

I listened to the match at work, then watched most of it at home on the night. Much better on TV. The radio guys were quite gloomy about the quality. I've seen worse, so I didn't think it looked too bad. Thomas continues to impress. Fair Result. I follow Fulham as I have die-hard Cottager friends. Can't figure their sorrows.
