We're at a sort of lull in the season where I think we will have 9 days in between matches. I'm bored sitting around waiting for the next match so I just need to rant.
First, get the finances straightened out. Leeds will never be able to move forward on the pitch if the players can't focus because of the circus that has become Leeds' fianancial situation. If Sainsbury has the funds, then Krasner and Co. need to get out of the way and make this as painless as possible.
Second, just stay afloat this year in the Championship. If we're relegated this year, it could spell the end for Leeds United. I seriously doubt that will happen, but the squad just needs to worry about becoming a better team. This year will not be a promotion year. I think the sooner the players come to terms with this, the sooner they can relax.
Third, stay patient. I realize it's very difficult with Leeds floundering in the Championship, but patience is still key. Guys like Crainey, Bakke, Johnson, Carlisle, Spring, Healy, etc. are all dinged up. Other guys like Gregan, Oster, and again Healy have only been with the club for a few months now and only Kelly can remember life in the Premiership with Leeds.
Overall, I think Leeds has a good spurt coming up in the future. There is more than enough talent on the team to be a solid Championship club. Let's get the fianances straightened out, give Blackwell some money, and focus on finishing the second half of the year out strong. Putting more pressure on will only complicate matters. Let's view this year as a season to stabilize the club, discover who can play and who cannot, and move forward towards promotion next year.
I really have no idea who this is directed to, I just wanted to get it off my chest.
