Hey, I want ppl to share their expertise about what inddor shoes to wear. Im not talking about turf, but indoor shoes.

One of my alltime favourites is offcourse the Adidas Copa indoor shoe, but the only thing the shoe does not have, is good shock absorbing ability, playing with a shoe like that with nothing advanced in the bottom of the shoe might give you some problems with ur legs if u do play upto 6-7 times a week on indoor surface. But other than that, the shoe fits like a sock.

Another good shoe in my eyes is the Valsport shoe, I do not know what its called, but its the top model with white color, it has perfect fit and nice cussioning.

I dont know about shoes like the Nike FS Vapor, I have heard that it is only for looks and not that good in comfort.

Please share your experience in this thread, maybe this will answer alot of peoples questions about what shoes to choose for the indoor soccer season.

I was kinda thinking that indoor shoes would become close to extinct fairly soon. I mean, does anyone play indoor on that old carpet-like stuff anymore? I'd say it won't be long before everyone has switched to fieldturf, and then it's key to have turf shoes.

It's kind of a shame--I've got a newish pair of the ADIDAS Top Salas, which I liked a lot, but I never use them anymore now that our place has switched to turf.

flat bottom indoor shoes will always be around due to the amount of soccer played on hardwood and court surfaces.

I would say the copa indoor is the best on the market and the nike tiempo permier(discontinued model) is also a top notch boot. Lotto makes a pretty good indoor shoe as well with much more chushioning than the Copa (but I like my shoes as low to the ground as possible so I always end up back in the Copa no matter what else I wear).

Nike made a great shoe a while back called the Rayo(not the air rio model) and it was as good as the Copa indoor. It was almost like a black and sliver k-leather model of the old mercurials but it had just a touch of mesh on the sides and a minimal tounge like the mercurial, it was so low to the ground and soft it was like a silpper, but Nike being Nike decided that one season was too many for a shoe and stopped making it. I could go off on a Nike rant here but I am going to hold back for now...............

since I play only futsal, either on artificial turf or indoor, this thread is just my case though I don't expect many replies unfortunatelly.in terms of indoors I used only nike air brasilia and some adidas ones, both normal leather, had no problem with either of them, though I'm still looking to get something better, now trying to get some info about special futsal shoes, like munich gresca,I wish they would work even on turf,(mean indoor sole)cos my turfs' sole last for half season, and I can't afford buying new shoes twice a year, and indoor sole lasts much longer.

Well, im from europe, and ive been playing on hardwood floors all my life. For improving the tactical skills of a player, playing on astroturf or something like that is good because its a big field and you can play 11v11. But when it comes to improving the technical skills of a player, I support playing on a hardwood floor on 5v5 or futsal as the offical rules call it now. Its faster, u have smaller surface to move on and you need good skills to handle the ball fast. In the winter time I allways play indoor to keep my skills fast and acurate. Since the bouncing of the ball and fast rolling on the floor makes u act quicker.

Now back to boots:

One of my best indoor shoes was a pair of Hi-Techs(yes beleive it or not) But they were like the Copa, but lighter and more soft. There was no leather, just some fabriq that covered the whole upper foot area and they were really light, it was like having a pair of socks on when playing. But this was like 8 years ago.

Now I have ordered a pair of Nike 365 ( I do not know what 365 it is, but its not Vapor 365), I will post a message about how they look and feel when I get them, also some pictures will be posted of the shoe. Feel free to post pictures about ur "dream indoor shoes".

i've played about 2 years of indoor soccer now, and we play on green carpet stuff.
my first year i used the Nike Tiempo Pro in white and those were real nice, but the rubber on the toe came undone and now i can pull the rubber on the shoe from the toe all the way back to the middle of the shoe... so i just got some Nike Total Magias (the first ones in chrome) and i love them. theyre comfortable, no blisters and havent affected my shooting or passing negatively... i've scored 7 goals in the last 2 games :D

Here's my feedback on the last 3 pair of indoors I've owned.

Kelme Treuno: Discontinued I believe, but I've found some online outlets which still sell them for a pretty penny.. about 80-90 bucks. The kangaroo leather is extremely supple and form-fitting so the comfort level is high, but they are average in weight, and the durability is iffy at best. In all, not a great value.

Adidas Mundial Goal: Similar to the Copa.... too heavy, takes a while to break in, but built like a tank. Not as comfortable as the Trueno, but more affordable. I've ditched these in favor of my new shoes, because I wanted lighter weight.

Nike Total 90 III IC: Very Leight weight, very minimalist design with zero cushioning in the forefoot and maybe a quarter inch in the rearfoot. But remeber that playing on artifical turf, the need for cushioning is redundant... the carpet has a layer of cushion under it already.
So the payoff is excellent touch and manuverability. The jury is still out on the "pleather" upper material though. In all, a great value.

Well I think I have got my hands on something good, the F30 indoor soccer shoe. Its lighter than the Nike Magia shoe, and just 0.5oz heavier than the Nike Vapor FS. So I think this shoe has potential. I will get it in a few days and then ill post pictures of the Valsport, Nike 365 and the F30 indoor.

Please post picture of rare indoor soccer shoes.

Where I live, we are also having the problem of "indoor" soccer places going to synthetic grass, in which we all wear studs, not turf shoes. Some players wear turf shoes, but on a wet field, they aren't that effective. To my knowledge, there are only 1 or 2 left that have indoor carpet. I've only played on hardwood a handfull of times, and I enjoy it. The fast pace, the movement of the ball, reaction time. it's great stuff. Since I was only playing indoor for a while. I purchased quite a few pair of indoor boots. My favorites were my nike tiempo premiers, and Adidas supernovas. The supernovas are unbelieveable. However, the rubber on the toe came off about 3 months after playing. I tried the original magias and I hated them, way too narrow, and the last lace loop was positioned weird and they didnt lace correctly on me. They were light however.

I actually wear indoor boots as my casual wear shoes, as they are great for my flat feet, and some have some pretty good support. Right now I've been wearing my silver/red climacool salas a bit, as well as my silver/blue f50 a3. but my collction includes:
~silver/red pulsado indoors,
~chrome talaria 365s,
~silver/red f50 a3,
~silver/maroon first touch mesh,
~gold/white total 90 indoor,
~red/white total 90 indoor.

I think i now have more shoes than my wife......

I actually need to buy some indoor shoes because I'm about to start playing in January. The adidas copa's seem pretty expensive (about $90), and I'm not crazy about the stuff on front lip around the toes. I kind of like the looks of the Kelme Copa's (about $40), much lower rubber front lip.

I'm also considering Diadora Black Italica (about $40):

Or maybe Diadora Carioca's (not cheap, about $90)

I recommend trying the F-30s indoor shoes. I have them and I like them alot :)

They were really tight in the beginning but after 2 hours of wearing them in hot water. They fit me like socks..

I havent received my pair of the Nike 365 yet, but they might also be a good choice.

out of those i would say the copa this by far the best, the price is high but it will last you for a long time i have had a pair last two years of year round three tiems a week indoor play.

diadora makes crap indoor shoes they are way too high off the ground i would stay away from those at all costs.

those kelme are not too great either the front toe lip come off the upper very fast.

i am wearing the Vapor FS right now i just got them as an early christmas present from my girlfriend :). they are awesome i am very impressed , they are pretty comparable to the rayo boot i talked about before, the touch is great and the cushion is fantastic while still being close to the ground, i am thinking about picking up 2 or 3 pairs after christmas because i know nike will stop making them at some point and i am still kicking myself for not picking up the rayos and stockpiling them when i could have........

I've played indoor pretty much my whole life, mostly on that indoor carpet turf stuff (what MISL uses), but also in a gym on hardwood occasionally.

I've used both the Copa Indoors and Samba K's and by far the Samba K's are better. The Copa indoors I had fell apart (I was pretty rough on them, though, playing 4-5 times/week on that carpet really burns up shoes when you cut etc.). The Samba K's lasted forever. I only had to buy new ones when the tread totally wore off. I highly recommend Samba K's. They've brought back the longer foldover tongue on the Samba K's too, which makes them more comfortable.

Thanks for the info jc and ronaldo. Another question I have -- the people I'm playing with say flats are fine, but I wonder if I would rather have some kind of turf shoe. I believe the surface is some kind of artificial turf, but I doubt it's the expensive stuff.

thats more of a personal choice thing. i wear flats on carpet type astro turf because i am afraid of catching the carpet and blowing out my knee(my high school coach had that happen when he played at navy on their old astro field). i have pretty much always worn flats on the carpet excet for a few select times when i was trying out new turf shoes and wanted to do it inside to prevent any wear and tear if i wanted to return them.

the field turf stuff you can do flats, turf or cleats(this is if the place allows regular cleats here in Maryland they dont at one place called soccerdome but they do at another in rockville). I have never tried cleats on that stuff my ex girlfriend wore her cleats on it and she said it was fine but i have always stuck to flats or turfs on that surface.

I had the exact opposite thing happen my copas lasted forever and my smaba k's died a quick death, as a matter of fact out of the 5 or 6 pairs of copas i have had they all have lasted and the two pairs of samba k's both fell apart.
