View Full Version : MSV Duisburg - the Zebras [R]
For me Duisburg always used to be the "Graue Maus" (please enlighten me with a nice translation), probably because of the fact that nobody really showed up when they still played in the Bundesliga in their old crappy stadium (http://www.stadiumguide.com/wedaustadion1.jpg) where you just coudn't generate any kind of atmosphere and because they never really did anything during the last 15 years or so.
At least I really can't remember.
Today they beat Cologne front of 30.000 in their beautiful new Arena and are now sitting at top of the table in the 2. Bundesliga.
Maybe things are changing in Duisburg and more young people from Duisburg will support the MSV instead of going to games of the more prestigious clubs in Dortmund or Schalke.

I kinda like how they "americanized" their logo ;).

Holy shi!t! Who knew Duisburg had a new stadium? To me it's not Duisburg without that old crappy stadium. Or without Bachirou Salou....

wow that new stadium looks cool
i went to a game at the old stadium in 1996
i think that was the last season they went up
i got the blue and white striped jersey from that year
hope they make it up this season

Watched them last night... man what a boring match.
Stadium looked good though, surprised it appeared full.

Hahahahaha... I didn't want to install the Quick time player just for that song, did a google search on MSV Hymne and found this...
Die MSV-Hymne ist ab Sonntag auf einer neuen CD zu finden (9,95 Euro) und enthält neben zwei weiteren neuen Hits ("Jetzt kommt der MSV" und "Wir sind Zebras, SuperZebras") selbstverständlich auch den Klassiker, den "Zebratwist".
Hahaha... Zebratwist! Wir sind SuperZebras! Hahaha...
I hope there are no MSV fans here i just offended.

I was there 3 weeks ago when we drawed them 1-1...
I have to say the stadium is kinda nice, but the club itself is still as interesting a the famous bag of rice in china...
When we were there, on a friday night there were like 15000 people. the whole one stand was just plain empty, there were like 5 people on it. the athmosphere wasnt worth a dime... and all that even though they had won the last 6 or 7 consecutive home-games and are going for promotion... And I mean, I dont wanna sound arrogant or anything but i believe in 2nd Division Frankfurt is still one of the bigger teams that could draw at least a couple of people (even though we do suck this season). I mean i dont wanna know how this stadium looks when they lost three times in a row and play Unterhaching.... is it gonna be like 5000 people?!
And the most ridicolous thing was, when they announced our team, they had an Energie Cotbus Sign on their video-wall... freakin newbs...
