The likes that haven't been seen since the days of Sergei Rebrov and Dean Richards.

I wonder if he can buy my christmas presents for me!

Failing that.. another forward and some wide midfielders. That'd be nice too, cheers Martin. Mr Jol. Sir. Bye!

There's gonna be plenty of dollars flying around the lane if the rumours linking Ledley with The Old Lady are true. I guess if he's gonna be sold it's better he goes abroad. Step up Calum, you'll be off to Barca in a couple of years

Yeh, you mean this one...

Juventus are set to attempt to take Ledley King away from White Hart Lane with a massive eighteen million pound offer. Although solid enough at the moment in defence, it remains true that their defenders are not getting any younger and they see King as an Ideal replacement.

The obligatory club insider was quoted as saying “He is the sort of calibre of player we are looking for, strong yet still young, he could be an integral part of our defence for many years to come”.

I haven’t been able to find what Spurs are making of this, but it does seam likely that eighteen million might just be enough to tempt them, it seams no secret that their new coaching staff are after a major overhaul of the current staff, and for that they are going to need money.

Excuse me if i DON'T believe a word of this. Look at the report: badly written, no facts, a made up quote that could have been done by a chimp on a typewriter, bad spelling and then some sort of lame-arsed justification at the end based on nothing at all.

An offer doesn't mean he's leaving. A "seam" is something on clothing or curtains. The club insider quote is treated with disdain, "obligatory" as if it has to have one to be true yet there is no name or position given. Hello Sunday People/Star/News Of The World/National Enquirer.. you have a rival.

It's not happening, and 18 million is too low, the club are looking for more than 20 million before even thinking about it.

All being well we'll have the cash to buy the players we need to become a good side. The foundations are there, just need to add a few more players and we'll be settled. If the cash Jol has to spend is about 10 million, then that's more than enough, especially with a few unwanted players like Redknapp leaving.

I don't want to sell our best players butŁ18 million would be a phenomenal amount for Ledley. In today's market we could buy 3 or 4 top drawer players with that money.

Having said that the story is probably a load of rubbish.

DON'T SELL LEDLEY KING. (unless it is 30 million or something :))

IRREPLACEABLE, YOUNG, BRILLIANT WORLD-CLASS DEFENDER.

haven't spurs fans been saying that for 5 or 6 years now? oh if graham is just given a bit of cash. hoddle just needs 3 new players.

That's more or less true, although unfortunately when given the cash those two individuals wasted it:

Hoddle spent over 20 million on Richards, Postiga, Bunjevcevic and Ziege. Graham spent 25 million on Perry, Thatcher, Leonhardsen, Willem Korsten and Rebrov.

If they had spent wisely with such vast sums at those moments rather than hideously badly, they would have had much stronger teams.

So far I'm a lot more encouraged by Arneson's transfer dealings, they still need to get it more right than wrong in January, but if they do then the team will be a lot stronger than it is now.

Probably, every fan of every club says the same thing. Managers always say they wish they had 2 or 3 more players and a bit of money.

Spurs have been guilty of wasting money in the past, but right now it seems we have people who see the problems and find the right man at the right price.
