Amazing, 600 million Euros per season. Comparison:
English Premiership (550 mio.)
Italian Serie A (530 mio.)
German Bundesliga (286.5 mio.)
Spanish Primera División (228 mio.)
Further evidence that the French league is closing the gap...

Sky's total deal with the Premiership is worth £1.024 billion (1.493 billion euros). The total package is broken down into 4 components worth £358m (which is where the 550m euros probably comes from), £282m, £230m & £154m.

Plus the German TV market just chrashed a few years ago, so the channels don't have money to pay for the rights.

The French already received more money than the Spanish from (national) tv rights before this new deal I think (pretty sure I've read it somewhere) even though their clubs might not have been the most succesfull in Europe, their league has always been one of the more entertaining ones to watch/follow in my opinion. So they can have that money.

They got 375 mio. Euros before (60 percent less.)

Ligue Une is worth that much because over the last decade or two, it has been the least predictable of the major European leagues. If you consider each league's "elite group" (in this case Lyon, Monaco, Marseille, PSG) and its "chase group" (Auxerre, Bordeaux, Nantes, Lens, Lille, Rennes), the gap between the two is smaller in France than in most other European leagues.

Germany anyone?
who would've thought that Wolfsburg and 96 would be up that much and Leverkusen and BVB so way down? it is every year like that in the Bundesliga!

The French league needs a bigger tv deal than Spain or Germany because French teams have to pay high employment taxes and they have to have their finances checked and regulated by the DNCG(the government). You dont have this in England, Spain, Germany or Italy so thats why France needs such a large tv deal to help even the playing field a little. Teams like Bracelona and the Italian teams are milliions and millions in debt yet they still keep on spending for the top players. French teams cant spend money like that if they are in debt because of the DNCG. They also have to pay higher taxes for players so thats why they need so much money from tv rights to help them compete with the other leagues who dont have similar restrictions.

yes it's the exception but there is a new law which goes back to one month and the taxes thus will decrease. good news.
sorry, if my English is not perfect.

Your English is just fine (for sure better than my French ;-) )
As far as I know the German teams have to have very solid finances, don't know about taxes though...

Probably in the next years we will see some French stars returning home and the new kids wanting to stay instead of going outside.
France has the potential to provide some european competitions winners in the next decade.

I gues Frankfurt would be another example... but look at Leibzig for example. Roma or Madrid would not be allowed to play in BL1 with that finacial situation...

You've got to like Monaco's chances (new TV deal, no tax situation.) Now if only they had a larger fanbase...
