Rangers News:

Bircham returns from illness. Rowlands has practiced all week and should be available. None of the other long-term guys (Edghill, Thorpe, etc.) are ready to return yet.

The Opponent:

Ipswich, after making the playoffs last season, is challenging for the top at the moment. They just added to their squad by signing Darren Currie from Brighton. After a stretch of three draws in a row, they've gotten hot, winning 5 of their last 7 (with one draw and one loss). Their last six (most recent first):

A Crewe D, 2-2
H Brighton W, 1-0
A Sunderland L, 0-2
H Leeds W, 1-0
A Burnley W, 2-0
H Sheff United W, 5-1

The Series:

Ipswich slightly leads a very close series, 21-15-19. Their last meetings were at this level in 00/01, with QPR taking both matches, winning 3-1 at Loftus Road and 4-1 at Portman Road. The clubs first met in the 1938/39 season.

The Referee:

Carl Boyeson has been assigned. In 16 matches this season, he's issued 46 yellows and 2 reds. This is his first match this year as high as the Championship level (5 League One, 7 League Two, 1 FA Cup, 1 League Cup, 2 LDV Vans). Last season, he worked our 2-1 loss at Oldham. Now in his third year as referee, that's his only QPR game thus far.

Adam Miller must be looking good in practice, since he's taking Cook's place, rather than McLeod. Rowlands makes the bench.

Day; Bignot, Shittu, Santos, Padula; Ainsworth, Bircham, Bean, Miller; Gallen, Furlong.

Bench: Cureton, Rowlands, McLeod, Branco, Cole.

Happy to hear you'll be able to catch it live today.

Yeah I'm FINALLY to my offseason. I have a couple of months of basically nothing to do, which is cool, considering how busy am the rest of the year.

Daymakes ANOTHER huge save, from Tommy Miller, it sounds like Ipswich have the run of it right now.

A third good save from Day in quick sucession, from Naylor, tipped a header over from a corner. Ipswich have alot of posession so far.

15 mins, QPR has been punting some long balls forward, otherwise Ipswich have the run of it right now, Horlock in particular getting lots of mentions.

Free kick on the edge of the Ipswich area, 1st good chance for QPR.

JUST misses Furlong's head, I think Miller took it? Yes Miller, good kick, just missed some heads.

We're finally starting to play on their end a bit and getting our share of possession.

25 mins, pesession is evening out a bit, Miller and Padula getting lots of mentions on the left side.

...Bent gets a hard shot off, Day saves, and chews out his back 4. 60 yard punt from Ipswich, Santos & Shittu just missed it.

Crap.

From the commentators:
"Absolutely unbelieveable defending."
"They've been dreaming at the back all game."
"A comedy of errors in the back."

QPR 0-1 Ipswich

Hard shot from the edge of the penalty area, totally against the run of play, off a long ball.

FURLONG SCORES!!!! 90 seconds later.

1-1
That's odd. I'm listening through QPR World and am a bit behind you, because I read your post saying we'd scored probably 20 seconds or so before I heard it. It was surreal knowing it was coming.

Are you listening to the BBC feed? Or on World?
