UEFA file Real for racist abuse

Real Madrid have received a fine of €9,780 after racist abuse by fans against Bayer Leverkusen during a Champions League game in November. Some of the abuse, according to UEFA, included chants at black players of Leverkusen and also Nazi salutes. No further penalty was given as this was Madrid’s first penalty for such an offence.

The penalty should be much higher. All of these clubs are getting off the hook way too easily. Maybe if their spot was forfeited and the next-best club took it, Real Madrid, Lazio, and others would start cracking down on this.

It's a disgrace to the game.
