Ruud is an injury doubt again.

Fergie said: "He'll train today [Friday] and Saturday and we'll see how he is on Monday."

Very important match for us... Either Chelsea or Arsenal and possibly both will drop points on Sunday and we need to get the full three from this match to help close the gap.

I have to wonder if Ronaldo will get the start for this one since he played in Turkey. I suspect he might be used as a sub in this one espeically since Giggs will be well rested.

We've had a pretty stable first team line-up and I'm glad for that - here's to Ruud being healthy for this one.

Wes Brown will be out for this one with an Achilles injury from the CL game at Fener.

Obviously another huge game if we want to close the gap. I think we can't worry too much about the Arsenal-Chelsea game, since we will have the opportunity to gain points on someone, doesn't matter too much who it is at this point. We've been doing very well over the past month and that's all that has mattered.

So wait - do I root for Arsenal to win so we gain points in the title race or do I root for Chelsea to win so that we gain points on Arsenal?

Awwww, ******** it - I'm rooting for Everton to lose then...

We just need to continue winning.

I say a 2-0 win to us, with Smithy and Rooney chiming in. I say just let the London clubs bite each other's limbs off while we benifit. Hopefully we can take advantage.

Play freaking attacking football. If we play defensively, this could be a dangerous game. Hope we play the same flowing, "what position are all these midfielders playing!?!?" football that decimated Southampton and WBA.

Rooney and Scholes in the goals. 3-0.

really tough weekend for us :) both matches should be good but we are all stuck in this sort emotional dilemna :)

I hope both matches end in 0-0 draw.

:) Yep. I'm hoping Everton loses, too.

Also, I hope Arse beats Chelsea. Maybe it would give them too much confidence for ManU's good. It would make it possible, with a win, for the gap to close to 6. And it's not yet Boxing Day.

The Arsenal-Chelsea game is win-win all the way if we beat Fulham.

An Arsenal win brings Chelsea back to 6 points and with Arsenal at 4 points we're already much better than had been hoped for January.

If it's a draw both teams drop 2 more points.

If Chelsea win then Arsenal come back to just 1 point.

Can't lose guys! :D

You guys know that I am not cheering for those bastards. Even their fans are stink on these message boards. Anyway, All we need to do is to do our job. Win and wait for the rest to slip up. Am I the only person that this season reminds them of the 2002/03 one?

Agreed. Imperative that we win our game no matter what. Everton vs. Liverpool is irrelevant. It would be perfect if the Chelsea-Arsenal game ends in a very high scoring, exhausting draw.

All being said, most important thing is that we win our games regardless. I'll be watching that game of theirs hoping for a collapse in confidence from one or both teams if possible. heheh

Well, Eveton won so I think the best result from the Arsenal-Chelsea game would be a draw. Fulham hasn't been playing well recently and their defense seems unorganized and prone to giving away easy goals (from the little i've seen them play).

I reckon we'll win, something along the lines of 3-1, but we need to guard against complacency - Fulham are a decent side who have been underperforming lately, and their Carling Cup preformance against Chelsea recently was nothing to be ashamed of.

I predict we will win with a 3-1 result, with goals from Scholes, Rooney, and Giggs. As for the Arsenal-Chelsea match I'd like it to end in a draw, so that we can get closer to them in the standings.

Yes!

So sick of the media saying we should be rooting for Arsenal. I actually would rather Arsenal win for aesthetic and preference reasons...but there's just not that big of a difference between 2nd and 3rd. We need to be aiming for 1st, even if it's not obtainable. And a draw furthers that end the most.

Agree with what you are saying partially, but a win for Arsenal would mean chelsea drops 3 points... they are 9 clear.. we would remain 4 behind arsenal while Chleski's lead would be reduced to 6... a draw would mean we'd be 5 pts behind Arsnil and 7 behind Chavski... so if we're gunning for first which is unattainable right now, an Arsenal win helps us the most. Especially when u consider that Arsenal seem more likely than Chelsea at this point to drop some points along the way.

We may have to win without Ruud... in an article on PF about Saha not leaving in the winter SAF mentioned Ruud's calf strain and how important it was that he does not aggravate it... I would think he's had a long enough rest.. i dont think he's played since Nov. 27 and he'd only played 74 mins so he should be good to go.
