I'm originally from the burbs of London, and moved over here when I was 21, that was 10 years ago. Regarding my posts in this thread, I know in my experience sarcasm/dry humor doesn't work too well over here, but I thought the smiley face symbols I put in my message would convey that, but I guess not! Insert another smiley face-> :D :p :)

So much for sticking to soccer. True story - A couple years ago I went to a conference in Minneapolis. We got there Saturday and four or five of us were drinking together in a bar on Nicollet Mall that night. At one point there was an incredibly gorgeous classic Minnesota blond in front of us hanging on some guy's shoulder. He was facing away talking to somebody else and she was facing us. She started winking and flirting with us until one guy said something innocuous like "how are you tonight?". She then whispered something in her boyfriend's ear. He turned around with a hostile look on his face and a brawl nearly ensued. It was the last thing we expected in polite Minnesota. So watch out!
