Looks as if he's pretty much out of the team. Maybe this is the reason we got Flamini.

Goodbye, Edu, it seems we hardly knew ye. I wonder if he can maintain the tradition of limited success which seems to follow Arsenal players moving to Spain. I'll take 1.5m for him in January, or another Fabregas please.

I don't know how I feel about this. To me it almost seems like he has yet to play this year ( I know he did, but you get the point), and we've seen the great young talent we have in the midfield. I'm not sure if it's better for everyone involved if he does leave. He gets to go elsewhere and we get money.

I agree, but we won't get much money if he goes in January and none if its next summer.

I don't know why he's surprised he won;t be considered unless he signs up again. If he doesn't and is free togo next Summer, Wenger has to start thinking about the future and geting some experience for those younger players who will take his place in the squad. I like Edu as a player and he seems like a decent bloke generally, but this kind of thing shows his selfishness in turning his back on a manager who has stood by him through difficult times and believed in him, allowing him to establish himself as first-choice alongside Vieira last season and make it into the Brazilian squad. Wiltord found out that Arsenal won't be held to ransom, Edu should have learnt that lesson then.

Goodbye Edu.. lol
I think his ego may of gotten the better of him. A quality footballer but, obviously he doesn't want to be a part of AFC~

Ciao Edu. Surprised that Wenger would cut you if you don't sign? Oh well. Good luck in Barca.

I don't know about anyone else, but I would snap up Gio no question if given the chance.

Are you talking about the GIO that we just sold to Barca?

Edu had his quality moments, but I don't think he ever demonstrated that over a long run he could really be an every day quality midfielder. Maybe he could, but I guess we'll never know now. With him on his way out and Gilberto on the shelf long term, midfield is looking a bit thin. I wouldn't be surprised to see Wenger bring in somebody in January.

Not like he was bad, or he was good, like a lot of recent signings he's been a bit meh.
I wouldn't mind going back in Masachero, but I'd admittedly like the Gilberto, Fab and Paddy midfield long term so we are in a difficult spot. We need help but just how much?.
Cheerio Edu, Toodle pip me lad Toodle pip.

I liked Edu and wanted him to stay. He played very well last season. But he has wanted to go to Barca for a while and we don't need players that are not proud to wear the arsenal shirt.

I think Edu knows the first choice central midfielders are Viera and Gilberto but does he actually think he can get into the Barca starting lineup when they have a fully fit squad? It shows the mentality of playrs today - has he already forgot he waited for him after his passport (fake) problems and the long period he took to adjust to the EPL

I guess he just wants to warm when he is sitting on the bench - its gts kinda cold in london!

i'm an edu supporter, but he has to go. i don't think anyone can blame him for leaving seeing the emergence of cesc along with wenger's preference for gilberto. he seems better suited to spain being more technical and offensive-minded. however, i don't want him at barça.

I like Edu as a player, but appears that his injuries/age and attitude are not helping him right now with the AFC board/management/AW. He will always have a special place in my Gooner heart. Now I know why AW got Flamini and is using him. I would LOVE for Arsenal to make a serious bid for Gerrard!
