Goltv on DirecTV

I found this post on another forum:

"My tivo sent me a mail item . Its a line up change that adds gol tv on channel 614. It isnt on the Directv guide as of yet. Sometimes the tivo will update channels before Directv actually adds them and sometimes it adds them after the fact. It seems to be in the correct spot, right next to fox sports world which is mostly soccer. Any news on D adding this channel?"

On the same forum, Oliver said that he was going to contact Goltv to find out if this was true. This will be great news if it's true.

Get out! [Does the Elaine Benes shove.] The Miami Herald (http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/business/special_packages/business_monday/10168367.htm?1c) had an article a couple of weeks ago that stated that 3 million additional GolTV viewers will be added by early 2005. That's a 60% increase from their present subscriber base. Wonder how many DirecTV Sports Pack subscribers there are?

It was opined in the various other threads that GolTV had an exclucivity with Dish until the end of the year. I've asked DirecTV directly (about a month ago) and have gotten just the standard form letter response. Here's hoping.

I haven't heard anything other than the standard form feedback but this would be welcomed news. My wife may have other opinions though. :) My guess is that about 3 million of DirecTV's subscribers at a minimum have the sports pack.

I've just talked to somebody at GolTv over the phone and he says that they're still in negotiations, but if everything goes ok, GolTv will be on DirectTv in the first quarter of '05!

No news on BrightHouse cable however :(

I was browsing through Yahoo! TV listings today and sure enough channel 614 is listed as "GOLTVE" for directv.
