Thought we could use our very own thread to discuss this match :) . A place for discussion, predictions, wagers on how many cards will be given out by the Arsenal and Chelsea mods this week, etc.

A draw would do... but pretty much anything other than Chelski thrashing Arse would do really....

A draw would be ideal for us, but man there are few things I love more than seeing that arrogant asshat Mourinho lose.

My over/under is two.

I suppose it is a lesser of two evils scenario, which makes a draw the most attractive result. Then, Utd would have the chance to pick up points on both against Fulham on Mon.

I'll take overs on that, where do I go to find the Achtung sportsbook.
I'm thinking things could get ugly on those two boards, with some of our lovely trolls only making matters worse.

Can't really pass up hoping that Arse and Chelsea both drop 2 points. It would help us more for Chelsea to drop points, it's just that a resurging Arsenal could prove to be a bigger problem ultimately. On the other hand a loss to Chelsea could really hurt Arsenal's fragile psyche...
Aww heck, who cares, we just need to win our games.

Agreed, but since we don't have a match til Monday I might have to venture to the pub for this one, guaranteed either way for a little [incoming BigSoccer catchphrase/] schadenfreude.

Well, I don't know too much about betting, other than what I see when they play Over/Under on PTI...

A goalless draw would be superb, but an Arsenal win would be good... not only will it mean Chelsea who have a biggish lead would drop 3 points it would also mean that there would be pressure on both Chelsea and Arsenal because they would be on each others' heels which I think is good for us.
Bottom line, we have to win our games, however Arsenal winning would mean we'd have less to do to catch Chelsea who currently own the lead.

a draws the best result we can hope for coz if the arses win theyll get their spirits up and go on a winnin streak (until they reach us of cors), if chelski win, we'll hav no hope of catchin dem. i reckon it'll b 2-1 either way. Sam

Draw would be the best result for us, but unfortunately I can see Chelsea walking it.

Actually I reckon an Arsenal win is the best result for you, as this doesnt not lengthen your gap to the top of the table any further. A draw extends the ammount you need to catch up by 1 point, and a Chelsea win by 3 points. If we win it remains the same ammount...

Yes, but while that draw potentially shortens the lead of the leader it also keeps u a point further ahead of us... we'd like to get to the point where we are just chasing one team, right now we're chasing 3.

Granted, an Arsenal win would keep the top of the table where it is, but I don't think they are as out of it as a lot of people have said. I am hoping for a horrible, wretched 0-0 draw, preferably with lots of red cards. A Detroit-style brawl resulting in long suspensions would be nice too. Btw, I wonder if the M U Supporters' Club is planning a trip for the weekend in April when we play Chelsea. Might be able to squeeze in a ECL quarterfinal if we are still in it. I would go. Anyone else?

Or in other words your aiming for second place before you even think about winning it?

The best result for ManUtd would be an Arsenal victory, believe it or not. Putting pride aside, Arsenal winning would put us closer to the top 3. Not to look at the numbers, but it is what is important right now. More importantly, United need to worry about their own results. No matter what happens between Arse and Chelsea, for United to drop any points on Monday would ruin anything that they have going. So, if the leaders drop all three points, the top 4 gets tighter, and United could concentrate on leap frogging third place, then second place. First place is on our minds, but remember that United is still fourth, one full game behind Everton.

Chelsea to utterly dominate the game but Arsenal sneak it with a penalty from a blatant Ljungberg dive in the last minute. That way Chelsea get pegged back three points, Arsenal gain little in confidence and their gripes over Rooney's dive become even more hypocritical ;)

Arsenal are beginning to self destruct from within. Everyday there is word of someone going somewhere. Players not signing. The goalkeeper situation. Henry fearing he will be blamed for everything and anything. The youngsters are playing well enough to make them look competitive and Wenger says the game with Chelsea is no big deal.
Its all french to me but I think they are on a downward slide. Its difficult to stay on top. What goes up must fall down.
Chelsea have just handed Porto a lifeline by losing and theMourinho might be a little grumpy thus putting undo pressure on his band of merryGuys. "Mr.Ive got two guys at every position" is due for back to back tumbles.
What they both fear most is US in the rear view mirror hunting them down like the true dogs they are.
May they rip each others throats out. May the two coaches get at each other yelling their venom in their language of choice.
The object in your mirror IS closer than you think, but then this game means little if anything to these Titans in Their ownMinds.

Wow. It's going to be quite a game now. Hoping they absolutely exhaust each other. It's a very big possibility judgiing from that start.
