What else is left to say?! I didn't expect Roma to put any decent fight against RM anyway, but here is another quote:
"Roma are bottom of Group B and eliminated from European competition. Del Neri has already said he has little interest in the game against Real."
And the bottom is the place where Roma rightfully belongs.

It makes no sense really for Roma to use their best players for this game which serves no purpose at all for them, much better to rest them for an actual important match, games like these are the perfect ones to let your bench players get some playing time. And past games have already shown that sometimes this actually works in their favour, because these bench players would want to prove their worth (a Juve - Arsenal game comes to mind)

Plus they can play as crappy as they want, without worrying that their home supporters will boo them afterwards, with the stadium being empty and all. ;)

It's not like this is the first time it happens in the CL that a team rests their best players when their standing in the group is already determined, I would say it's pretty much an annual thing.
