I thought I open up a new thread as this are serious news. Christoph Metzelder will play 45 minutes in today's 3rd division match BVB Amateurs - Eintracht Braunschweig (Alex-K's team).
God news in dark times. Remember, Metze made his last Bundesliga match in March 2003...when we were still doing fine.

I am optimistic...but as a supporter you have to be. Seriously this match tonight will maybe show whether he still can play football or not. The real tests are then the first Bundesliga matches in 2005. I wish him all the best.
p.s.: Could you please remove your signature. Whether it is true or false, I don't care, but it is disgusting.

Good luck to him, I hope it goes well.
Yes I know my signature is revolting and will be removed soon.

If Metzelder can come back to full fitness and form, it will be tremendous boost for both BVB and Germany.
Christoph Metzelder is one of the most talented young defenders in the world. He has talent on the level of Ballack, only as a defender.
This first step is great news. :)
Best of luck to Metzelder!!!!!

What kind of amateur team was that? BVB played with Metzelder (45 min.), Demel, Bergdölmö, Oliseh and Ricken! Still Braunschweig won 2:0 ;) but good to see that Metzelder is back.
Great news!
Good to see him back in action!
Hopefully he will be the great player he once was!

Comeback after 626 days – Christoph Metzelder is back
(Thomas) Two thousand fans of Borussia were happy to see Christoph Metzelder back on the pitch during the Amateurs game against Eintracht Braunschweig in the 3rd division. For the first time after his long injury he was playing in the black and yellow jersey again. We’ve asked him shortly after the game how he felt. There was already cheering from the supporters when the members of the squad were named. ‘With the number 21 Christoph Metzelder!’ Finally he is back again....

Well, half of the 2000 were probably Eintracht fans.

It was just a quote from a certain user that described how he got his username, going into too much detail I might add.

Metzelder played in yesterday's friendly in Ahlen. He was the only bright light in a lousy defence.
