Good to see the play that was done by the teams in the first week of competition.
Attendance numbers are good as well. My worry is the Brisbane Strikers.

I was at the Newcastle United - Soth Melbourne Game. 2-0 win for newcastle.
It wasn't a bad game for the start of the season. Newcastle had four of it's main defenders injured for the game. Both teams looked rusty however melbourne were never in the match.
I think newcastle look like they will be a strong team this year when they get their defensive players back. They looked good inattcak and midfield.
The crowd was a dissappointing 7853, however this may be related to the local rugby league team playing a semi final the next day.
Hopefully it should be a great season, and I can't wait for newcastle's next home game.

Hi to all,
Let's hope the NSL will have a good season
this year but I won't be holding my breathe.
We can't even see any highlights packages
of any games so how is the game supposed
to improve in this country?? Channel 7 is doing
a great job at screwing soccer for the benefit
of the other codes- AFL, NRL etc.
Cheers

What's with the situation concerning the Force and them wanting out of Hindemarsh Stadium?

Hi DoyleG,
The Force want to leave Hindmarsh because of the
costs that they consider are too high. They say if
they move to Norwood Oval which is not an oval
designed for soccer, they will save heaps of money.
This oval is absolutely a joke to play soccer on but
the Force reckon they can get more of a crowd there,
they don't mention the main reasons for their low crowds
are many and varied, especially the product which is
presented to their fans on the pitch leaves a lot to be
desired. The fact is they have a contract to play at
Hindmarsh and the government here is making sure they
honour that contract, otherwise, it might be the end of
the Force for good.
Cheers

The Parade is a great venue though - close to the city, in the higher demographic part of town, surrounded by restaurants etc etc. As I understand it the club wasn't part of the agreement to play at Hindmarsh "White Elephant" Satdium.

The thing I'm thinking about for the next round is what's with Olympic Sharks. The Police banning the use of noisemakers. What's up with that?
Are they going to crank up some music?
