Go to the MLS Cup link on MLSnet.com and look at the map the link brings up. It shows most sections of the stadium in black. I tried picking mezzanine and upper level choices on Ticketmaster and it siad it could not find available seats on those levels.

It looks like they're only planning on selling seats on one side line, and both ends, only in the lower bowl. No 200 level seats. No 300 level seats. If that's MLS's plan, then the crowd won't be more than 25,000.

Does anybody know if the seating is going to be restricted for the championship game? Is the map a relic of the regular season?

it's at foxboro, so that probably means that what you see on the map is what you get. the krafts don't really give a crap about the fans, but they do love $$$. so they'll raise the ticket prices, while opening up maybe a couple of thousand seats. i'm guessing the will open the west side of the stadium, but no more. after all, all those fans might dirty the stadium for the patriots. and bobby K. just couldn't bear that.

I am a season ticket holder and they offered me the option of switching to the other side for MLS Cup, so the entire lower bowl will be open. That's around 40k.

Entire lower bowl capacity is actually 30,000. Also, remember that MLS Cup 2002 is an included match as part of Revolution season ticket-holders full-season packages.

No way.

Back in 1999, no Revs in the playoffs and the game in late November, we got 44,000

3 years later, with Revs in the playoffs at the brand new Razor, I will be heartbroken with anything less than 50,000.

I got 4 $70 seats at the 40 yard line sec 106 row 17, so I'm doing my part.

Keep in mind the last MLS Cup in Nov in Foxboro had temps in the 80s and Sunny.

The reason why I remember this was because the half time show(I believe it was Christina Aguileira) were all wearing big bulky snow suits. It looked really odd since everyone at the game was wearing t-shirts.

That was an odd day - but don't you think the game being held so late in the year may have slowed early ticket sales - with some people afraid of bad weather?

The good weather would have been known in advance only 2 or 3 days.

That whole Christina Aguilera performance looked odd.

And its time to change your username. :)

It will probably rain again and the crowd will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 25k.

MLS' dream would be to have the home side there as well as good weather.

Re: Revs miss playoffs again...

Also keep in mind that MLS Cup 96 was played in a 45-degree downpour at night. of course, i was there, and it was a hell of a game. but i didn't stop shivering until about thursday. this past thursday.
hopefully the weather will be nice, though. i think we could pick up around 35,000 if it were sunny.

and change your name, too.
