Can you believe it's already the end of November? Can you believe we're STILL in 3rd? I was expecting to be licking the bottom of the barrel, and yet here we are sitting on top. I know it has to end sometime, our bubble will burst, but I don't want it to be this week. We can beat these guys.
So they've scored a few more goals than us. They've also given up a few more than us. I don't think our typical 1-0 will cut it this game. It would be thrilling, and somewhat novelty, to see more than one goal for our side. But I'm not getting my hopes up. It's not going to be an easy win.
We're traveling with a full squad and Gravs has recovered from his knee injury sustained at Fulham last week. I don't expect there to be any surprises in the lineup. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. :D
Shown tape delay on FSW at 1pm ET/12pm CT.

It's a good thing I got my lazy arse out of bed early this morning. I sure didn't realize the game started an hour earlier than normal. I woulda missed half of it!!
No changes to the starting 11. Big surprise. hehe.

Bellamy took the ball all the way from midfield, through the Everton defense and beat Martyn. Poor Martyn didn't have a chance. He put it just inside the right post.
1-0 Newcastle. Dammit.

It's early, I know, but I have a bad bad feeling about this. We're already down a goal and, as you know, one goal is about all we've been able to muster in most games. Ugh! The agony of being a Blue.
C'mon boys! Prove me wrong. Show me we're not gonna lose!

Cahill picks up a yellow. Not quite sure what happened.
Jenas and Kluivert team up for a close call. Martyn saves. Looks like it's gonna be Nigel's show today.

These Newcastle boys seem to answer our pressure with their own, only much much closer. They're really making me nervous. They're getting in too deep, forcing Martyn to make heroic saves. Not looking good for us, unless there's a drastic change soon. I don't think we've had a shot on goal yet.

Come on Everton!!!

Geez louise, that was frickin close. Kluivert hammered in a volley at the edge of the penalty area. Martyn and Stubbs clear it off the goal line. Martyn gets knocked on the thigh and may be hurt? He's stretching his muscles.
Ohh, Stubbsy nearly puts it in. Save by Given.

Crap! We nearly put it in again off a corner. Just wide. Too many players to really see what happened.
We're getting our momentum together and it's nearly half time. Figures.

HT 1-0 Newcastle
Could be better, probably should be worse. Newcastle is on fire today. They're sharp and quick. The last 10 minutes we had a couple of chances and we could have equalized, but it didn't happen.

Well, Newcastle hasn't cooled off any during the break. Two saves in the last few minutes by Martyn. Now Dyer puts a shot off the side netting. Yup, we're gonna lose. Oh, and we're only 6 minutes into the second half.

Carsley to take a freekick about 25' out. Places a screamer past Given. All he could do was watch it hit the back of the net.
1-1 Yay!

Bellamy had Martyn beat but hit the post. We're not out of the woods yet.

Bramble putting on an Oscar-worthy performance trying to get Hibbert sent off. Hibbert barely touched him! At least the ref isn't buying it.

Gravesen feeds Marcus Bent, who beats the keeper and he hits the side netting. WTF? Dammit, we should have had that one!

Steve Watson comes on Cahill.

Oh, did we get lucky. Dyer was taken down inside the box and it wasn't called. Whew!
