After listening to the Donavan press conference and following close attention to the baseball Hot Stove season it struck me as interesting that American soccer has it's own Super Agent. I just decided to check out Motzkin's company website.

Here's the link. Nothing too earth shattering or interesting on it. Other than their phone number and Motzkin's e-mail address.

Unfortunately they don't have a full client list on their site.

Motzkin's bio is interesting too.

I was actually at one time looking to go into this field, until I found out you needed a law degree be an agent. I just couldnt force myself through law school..

That, and the fact that the jobs are next to impossible to come by discouraged me..

You don't need a law degree to be an agent, I'm not sure you even need USSF approval anymore.

Reading Motzkin's bio brings up the WC 94 boys club striking again.

You don't need to be a lawyer to be an agent though it certainly helps

Yeah isn't that odd. I don't think anyone ever mentions at least to what I've seen, his previous connection to the USSF. I suppose it makes sense given that you'd expect him to have a background in the game, but it's certainly interesting that he appears to have started out as part of that whole 'crew.'

Motzkin began his tenure in soccer when he served as Deputy Executive Director/General Counsel of the United States Soccer Federation, the national governing body for soccer, a position he held from June 1992 through October 1994. While at U.S. Soccer, Motzkin ran the business and legal affairs of the organization and his accomplishments included the negotiation of the largest licensing deal in U.S. Soccer's history and the creation and operation of the first-ever pay-per-view soccer event in the United States.
