How can you not like "Fat", "Eat It", "I Lost On Jeopardy" or "Hey Ricky"?

Do you torture baby ducks too?

Oh god, I can name loads of dumb songs. Here is a list of my most hated songs:

"Soak Up The Sun" by Sheryl Crow
"Drift Away" by Uncle Cracker (yeah its a cover)
"Come Away With Me" by Norah Jones
"Heaven" by Los Lonley Boys
"Complicated" by Avril Lavigne
"Pieces Of Me" by Ashlee Simpson
"Stupid" by Sarah Mclachlan

Oh the list can keep going! I'll stop there though.

Amish Paradise (parody of Coolio's Gangster's Paradise) and Nacho Grande (parody of Gerado's Rico Suave) are a couple of my personal favorites.

Dumb doesn't necessarily mean bad. Sting and Natalie Merchant, for example, are obviously literate, articulate human beings whose records I'd rather eat than listen to. On the other hand, the greatest song ever written is "Take the Skinheads Bowling."

Having said that, was "Whoomp! There It Is!" a stupid song, or what? Almost as dumb as "Rico Suave."

Point taken! "Daughters" by John Mayer is dumb though. He's telling mothers to be good to their daughts cause one day they will be mothers too. Perhaps he is trying to suck up to women so he can get some.

How did I miss that one? And how did we both miss "Like a Surgeon" and "Another One Rides the Bus"?

I personally like "Gump" and "Windows 95 Sucks".

Okay, I don't.

As for dumb songs - "He was a boy, she was a girl, can I make it any more obvious?"

"Rico Suave" is a monument to the human race. When we are all long dead, and aliens come to carve up the remains of our civilization, they will happen across a recording of "Rico Suave" and proclaim "This is what it truly means to live!”

The songs I hate are the pop songs that consist of nothing but one cliché after another. I swear I can make a computer program that spits out pop hits by the dozens.

Wierd Al is awesome.

is that song "Bitch" from a few years back in the bad or the dumb category?

"I'm a bitch, I'm lover, I'm a saint, I'm a mother" or something like that.

Four Non-Blonde's "What's Up What's Going On" and Joan Osborne's "What if God" have the twin merits for this category of being the dumbest songs that actually think they're smart. Same with Sk8ter Boi, actually

So Joan Osbourne is responsible for that piece of garbage I hear everywhere I go, eh?

Let's hit a few sacred cows here, too: "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" is dumb as dirt. The only way Bono could have fit more cliches in that song would have been to make it longer.

Too true. That Joan Osborne song infuriates me. Jesus is God and he was one of us. That is if you believe in Christianity but ya know what I mean, right?

I hate that lame-ass song. That's actually one of the songs that immediately popped in my mind when I saw this thread.

She should have sang "I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a saint, a one-hit wonder"

"What if God" is retarded. Especially for the line "nobody calling on the phone, except for the pope maybe in rome". That may be the stupidest thing ever. So its just god being a normal guy but receiving calls from the pope? And somebody explain Vatican City to her.

I also hated that bitch song. And people still treat it as smart and as important in the female makret

Whoever mentions Just a Friend is crazy. The song is great. See I wouldn´t considers song from Biz Markie, Weird Al, Early Beastie Boys or Will Smith, dumb because they tried to be funny and that was their intent.

Songs like Joan Osbourne, the bitch girl and the song about "having 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife" are dumb and more so because they tried to be smart and are considered so by the artist.

Also add "girls girls girls" form Motley Cure and "unskiminny bop" from Poison just because I´ve heard people like Vince Neil complain about how Nirvana took them out of music and how they couldn´t understand how music should be about sadness and blah blah blah. As if the world was unlucky to miss out on gems like those I´ve mentioned.
