Rammstein finally came out with another cd, "Reise, Reise". I think it's great, even if I don't have a clue what they are saying. I give it 5 stars.

Please rate the cd with 5 stars being you love it and 1 being you hate it.

Thanks.

That's the problem with you non-germans ;-)
You think every German loves ramstein. I for myself have not even heard the whole CD, nor any other. Evene though the songs I heard are ok... ;-)
But German Music offers much more than ramstein, especially when it comes to rock, Ramstein here is about as popular as KoRn in the US imo...

By the way, Korn is VERY popular among rock fans in the USA. They have many multi-platnuim albums. I never assumed that Germans loved Rammstein. But since they are from Germany, I thought I might ask some Germans. Please accept my apologies.

I used to like it, but IMO their music became quite pathetic in the last two albums. To little innovation, too much "roaring". The lyrics never were Rammstein's strenght and are probably one reason that they are more popular in the states than here...

Your probably right. I would be more than happy to listen to other popular German cds.

4.5 stars.

The cd is overall pretty good. I really started to like Rammstein with the Mutter album. I think that Mutter and Reise Reise are often more somber and emotional at times. Rammstein is definitely not a group for everyone. I can also sympathize with people who liked their older stuff more.

Amour, Ohne Dich, Moskow, and a few others really stand out.

I hate Rammstein, only recently have I liked "Amerika", good music video too but I've heard it so many times I am sick of it. Their new song "ohne dich" is terrible.

Rammstein is garbage!

Only heared their stuff a few times. Too much noise.
Gimme Herbert Grönemeyer, Reamonn, Nena, NoAngels, Daniel Küblböck any day. ;)

I've only heard the first single and I wasn't that impressed. Cool video though. Those guys make the best videos, hands-down: Hier kommt die Sonne, Links 234, Ich will - very entertaining stuff. I was planning to go to the show in Vienna, but it sold out very quickly. And the Stadthalle is a pretty big place, damn.

Daniel Küblbock?! I hope the winky-face is supposed to denote that this is a joke!

I actually wanted to start a thread today about German music. What do you guys listen to? About the only thing I can stand in German is Rammstein and the Toten Hosen to a certain extent. I can't help thinking pop music wasn't meant to be sung in German. Especially all these neue neue deutsche Welle bands, or whatever you're supposed to call them, like Wir Sind Helden, Mia, Juni......... that stuff just makes me want to puke.

I'm puzzled by how you can forget the greatest band of all time:

I love Hard Rock and Heavy Metal sung in German - there were a lot of East German bands who did this in the 70s and 80s. Unfortunately it's very hard to get East German Rock and Metal records these days.
