I realize Veracruz has nothing on America, but i was really impressed with America's victory. There are a few exceptions, the defense breakdowns in the 2nd half were a bit concering. I hope America does not get cocky because of this easy victory.

a whole season makes a difference?
new coach, new forwards
today, america is down 2-1 -few minutes left
abreu's score was a smart one.... good move, and he is on the board to chase los delgados and Cardozo....
who is watching?

i watched it and I think the best word to describe Veracruz' play in the final third was opportunistic. Becerra had a terrible game, poorly positioned on the goals and the commentators made heavy mention of the fact that Rios wasn't in.
America looked lax in the back, and loose in the middle, both goals were well-done, however. The pressure was just too little, too late, Veracruz had all the momentum they needed from the two early goals and a pretty raucous looking crowd. I still think that America will be in the mix at the end, they just need to tighten up, and the sooner the better.

Terrible game... just... TERRIBLE!
Becerra is has killed us these past two games. Beenhakker better get it through his head that Rios is the starting keeper.
Our defence is really sh!t too

then again rdl is right all teams in MFL go out and play vs aguilas like the last game....
Nice score by patino (my fav player in coapa)
one more yellow card for cuate blanco deserves a mention.
Leo B --- is going to have a long week, and he does not like to talk to much to the press or explain his actions... why rios on the bench? Not yet (My HO)
I just see a team in the transition from one style to Leo's.... he may be too old and the fire is gone, but aguilas is a bigger club than that!
who is next?

I have come to the conclusion that Beenhaker has lost it.
I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt.. tough preseason against world class teams. A lot of traveling. Started the season against 2 arch rivals and then going to the port (which is a hard place to play in)...
but its not even about that.
I dont understand how you put your best player out of the picture? I dont see how you put Blanco up in the left corner by himself and take him away from the group.
Beenhaker is shooting himsefl in the foot..
Here is how it should go..
------------Abreu--------------
Patiņo--------------------Blanco
------------Cuau----------------
---Mendoza----------Oviedo-----
------------Pardo---------------
Salinas--------------------Castro
------------Rojas----------------
------------Rios-----------------
beenhaker has them all screwwed up
i wish i had lapuente with this lineup....

Losing Duilio hurt us. We have conceded 7 goals in the last two games.
But........why is Becerra playing in front of Rios?

do not know about the line up, but patino and rios should be always inside from minute 1
and you have a point, Leo B.... probably losted....commentators said that the 'FIRE IS GONE'
can wait for press conference....when is Davino returning to save his arsee.....he is a motivator on the field, what cuate should have done.
Now, is abreu out with an injury?
the tough schedule... and accumulation of minutes punish the birds... lets wait and do not write them off yet.

they all go after America. America not only sells out your stadium, but can make you a legend in a town if you beat them.
IF you read the other thread, VS disagreed about playing in a team like AMerica is much harder because you are under a lot more pressure. Even TV azteca announcers said it today. They were comparing Briseņo to Ricardo Rojas. they went on to say that a player (defender) on a team like Veracruz could get appluaded for not having skill but hustling. And that wouldnt be the case playing in a team like AMerica.

not really. its not like Blanco spends hours talking to the ref and trash talking to the goalie like Cardozo.
If blanco would have been an Atlas youth player and turned out to be Mexico's best player... he would be treated as royalty.
But they go after Blanco because of the team he plays for. They can say all this crap about him coming up from Tepito and that he comes from a bad neighborhood and bla bla bla... did they forget... soccer is not a sport that is practiced in country clubs. the majority of soccer players in mexico come from poor areas. sure you have a few la Puente, Rergis, Parejita, Victorino, Horacio Sanchez, Mascorro who had money as children... but thatd because thier father were ex players.
my advice... dont let them fool you. There are worse players out there. there are players that wait after practice and attack thier teammates from behind. Their are players that spend the whole game yelling at thier teammates. there are players that actually go after players for personal vendettas.

a year ago with Lapuente... we had only given up 9 goals the whole freaking season... and we also had scored more goals...
I tell you... we didnt have to fix the coaching problem. Lapuente is still my man.. I promise you if Lapuente had this roster or given the same money.... undefeated pre season and undefeated season...
i wouldnt have wasted my money on Segio Blanco.. (although he is good).....
i would have gotten a better mid... and sack Castillo...

meza's new sons are just fine; delgados, I do not see a problem there for a long while!
rdl....cuate is not threated anydifferent that others, he deserved today's y-card and last week's
Is the frequency of it that bothers me....
parejita is going after the same reputation... he deseved the showers today.
on subject: yeahhhhh... is a pleasure to ANY team to beat a-coapa, no discussion there, but if you down el chiverio of various styles stands.... the joy is almost the same.

lets not get ahead of ourselves. Cruz Azul struggled with a Club America team that is playing like shyt. THey had the upper hand against Atlas because of 10 men and.. Atlas is not the team we knew 4 years ago.
MEza plays to conservative. The thing is... its individualism that is also helping out Cruz Azul

bull shyt he is not. He is always gunned for. Thats what happens when you are Club America's best player.

parejita is not known to go after people.

not really.
I dont feel the same about Chivas. I dont like them because they are supposedly "archrivals"
. I dislike them because they make Mexican soccer look bad. to be considered one of the best, and they got nothing to show for.... thats my problem. I see them as no threat. 40 years of nothing... are they suppose to wake up now with their new clown of an owner?

from where I see things... today (it always depend on the year and the team that chivas or aguilas present), is a huge PLEASURE to defeat them by any of other teams invited to compete with them.
I disagree with you on the cuate B issue
for Parejita, he does not go after players, my reference is about the way he is going lately after referees.........
you did not answer the other concern: does the team misses too much, Davino? when will we see him around?

Davino is just a class act.. he is smart and is a finnesse player. He is also very quick.
sure not having him is a minus... but the point I am trying to make is that America currently has a squad to beat anybody without having much problems..
but they are out of position. how many times did you see OViedo and Blanco get tangled up??? Salinas... who is known to attack and penetrate from the left flanck... is having problems because ricardo is out of position.... same with Castro... they are having to do double duty because ortiz is not a center d.
Beenhakker should just play a line of 3.... and just add another defensive midfielder... to clog the middle and keep the ball away from thier side..
Rojas and Ortiz are having way too many mishaps... why play a line of 4 when your 2 centerbacks dont understand each other? or when you see that they are not responding for 5 games straight? thats is stupid...
it would be better off just taking one away and add a defencise mid.
Mendoza is a nice player to have up front... but He would be more useful... beside PArdo... although Mendoza is not as skilled as Pardo... Mendoza reminds me of Palencia.... just a natural work horse and will fight every ball..

entonces el problema es el holandes?
el que recibieron con bombos y platillos hace 2 meses?
bueno, esto se volvio un monologo.... esperemos otras opiniones a favor o encontra
me voy a cenar.... again, Agulas desrve a better fate, than the recent one, on the other hand the competition is closer in MFL now days.
see ya and congrats on your 5k posts... all good and popular since your big come back of the summer of 2002. KUDDOS
