Is anybody else watching this show? It's got Hank Azzaria playing a psychiatrist. The second episode just aired on Sunday, so if haven't seen it it's probably not too late to catch up.

It's a comedy, I guess, but a pretty dark one as one of Huff's patients commits suicide in his office during the first show.

It's definetely good TV, though.

This makes 2 series that have come out on cable this year that I have really gotten into, the first being "Rescue Me" from FX earlier this past summer. I'm thinking that the gods are smiling down on me since every show that's broadcast on network TV That I have invested time in seems to get cancelled ("Homicide: Life on the Street", "Boomtown", "High Incident"). For those of you keeping track that's twice NBC has screwed me (Homicide and Boomtown).

I dug Boomtown just for the Band of Brothers actors. I remember watching one episode and they could have fielded a whole platoon. Lt. Compton, Pvt. Luz, and Sgt. Guarniere and Lt. Lipton.

Who was in Homicide: Life on the Strizzeet?

I'd check out HUFF just for Paget Brewster.

Homicide had some pretty good actors. Andre Braugher, Daniel Baldwin, Ned Beatty, Richard Belzer, Yaphet Kotto, etc., etc.

It was co-created by Barry Levinson (Diner, Good Morning, Vietnam, The Perfect Storm) and filmed in Baltimore. They used all sorts of weird camera angles, a lot of handhelds, and some trick editing to give the show a signature "look" that you just can't find anywhere else.

"Boomtown" did have a bit of a "Band of Brothers" thing going on. I never even saw "Boomtown" the first year it was on, but they started replaying it during the summer on TNT. I caught a few episodes and i was hooked. I knew there was trouble brewing when they brought in Vanessa Williams in the second season. She didn't add much to the show. The only thing I can think of as to why this show never took off is the style it had of showing the same incident from multiple viewpoints. I bought the Season 1 DVD set, and I hope they'll release Season 2 since I think they had only shown 5 episodes the second season before it was cancelled.
