Say this about the Shortlist Prize -- they don't follow convention. TVOTR beat critical darlings Franz, Loretta Lynn, Wilco, Dizzee Rascal, and Air, among others.

--I don't know how many they've sold to date, but it only matters how much they had sold at the time of nomination.

I've heard the TV On the Radio record is good, but I saw them open for the Fall in Chicago a while back, and they were absolutely horrible. Worst of all was that they all just happened to be hanging out right outside the front door of the Empty Bottle after the show, in prime "Hey guys, great set!" territory.
